I learned a lesson today while walking in NYC to get a bagel before I left for the airport. BTW @ess_a_bagel is the BEST! Oops sorry, easily distracted 🤦♀️ . Anywho. Back to the words of wisdom. It’s good, are you ready? . So I noticed today while walking that no one was looking up. Eyes down, usually staring at their phone, bumping into people, stepping on toes, not being considerate and kind, just plowing through the streets to get where they are going with no cares of those around them. . Hmmmm.... do you see where I’m going with this? . THIS is the exact thing that’s going on in the creative industry of entrepreneurs! . People! You are so focused on “making it big and getting to where you want to be” that you don’t care who’s toes you step on to get there. You push your way up with no regards to the people around you. It’s just all about you. . This my friends is a problem. . You can still make it to the top by looking up, being kind, considerate of those around you (who in truth have helped you to get to where you are) it doesn’t have to be all heads down, don’t stop until you get there. . Because the truth is, you might “get there” but you won’t stay there because you can’t sustain it all by yourself. . Good thoughts huh? We need a tribe. Invest in people and relationships. Look up and see all the beauty around you. I firmly believe that the people who truly “make it” don’t do it by themselves. . #newyork #lessons #wordstoliveby -#photographer
Just one more sleep and I am home. This was the longest I have ever been away at one time and I can’t wait to hug my kiddos. It was a nice little treat having Matt here with me in NYC for a few days but I’ve missed those kiddos so much! . Traveling is amazing friends but it’s so hard as well. Remember nothing comes without sacrifices and while on the outside it appears glamorous there are always two sides. . So goodnight friends. I can’t wait to start sharing these past few weeks in images and reliving it all again. Maybe I will plan a little destination portfolio building tour...anyone interested? #france #provence #lavendar

Hi. I’m Julie and I literally have no idea what day it is or what time zone I am in. And this is the honest truth. . 22 days ago I left Nashville and boy, what an experience. Even the last 48 hrs. was pure crazy town and if you need a quick fix for jet lag I suggest making yourself so busy for 72 hrs that you don’t even have a chance to think about! I literally had a breakdown moment and bought a plane ticket for Matt to fly in on Friday to get me through my shoots here in PA, the Hamptons and NYC. But oh how I love this crazy life. . 2 more sessions here in NYC and then I head home on Tuesday. I’m literally going to take a day and make my kids sit on the couch with me and watch movies all day. (They will be thrilled I’m sure #teenagers🙄 lol) . I’m excited to get home, send out some beautiful wedding galleries, catch up on work, start working through a few thousand film scans from France and catching up on sleep. . What an experience, I will fill you in on it all when my body and brain aligns again. 😜 . Matt just told me it was Sunday. So happy Sunday. . 📸 @cassiclaire in Hawaii. Yes, another time zone 4 days before Europe. Yep. #juliepaisleytravelcandids
Serendipity: the faculty or phenomenon of finding value or agreeable things not sought for. . This word describes my story into photography. I never intended to be a photographer, much less one that people talked about and wanted to learn from. I was a teacher, I loved being a teacher but I had this hidden artistic side that I never even knew about until I was 38 years old. . Then I was given a camera and I fell in love. I was like a sponge, hours googling, buying books, researching online, attended a few workshops, I felt alive when I was shooting, to this day I still can't explain that feeling. . Suddenly, my business took off. People actually knew who I was and my inbox was flooded with people asking for help from me. WHAT? ME? I'm self-taught, I didn't go to college for photography, I have a degree in Music Ed. What can I teach you? . But they kept asking and I loved teaching, so why not? . It's been almost 7 years of teaching workshops. I still can't believe that I get to teach (which is my calling) and I get to travel and shoot all over the world while loving on people (which is my passion). . Tomorrow the cart opens for one week only for my new course, Shooting film without fear. I have put my heart and soul into this course and yes I know that there are so many amazing film courses out there but you know, everyone has a different way of teaching. I want to welcome you into my world. . Come sit on my couch and let me show you how invested I am in YOU and how much I care for you to have your own Serendipity moment. . The link is in the bio so you can read all about it, I hope you join me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #film #filmphotographer #filmworkshop #filmonlineworkshop #learnfilm #shootingfilm #shootfilm #photographer
