Join us this Thursday, June 25th @ 8PM Central for a Still Kickin Session with Ms. Danielle (@divorcingdanni), an educator, author and communicator. You may know her from her 15+ years in media under the moniker “Danni Starr. You may also know her from our first-ever Still Kickin IRL retreat!
.
This is an uncomfortable space we're living in today. But if we are committed to dismantling racism, we cannot allow our discomfort to be an excuse for inaction. We must name the discomfort. We must claim the uncomfortable work and persevere through it.
.
During this session, Ms. Danielle will be uncomfortable. *You* will be uncomfortable. Join us as she puts the spotlight on discomfort and fear and inspires you to move forward to work against systemic racism.
.
Register for this session at the link in our bio. We send out session recordings to all registrants afterward, so if you have a scheduling conflict that evening, sign up anyway! You’ll get the full recording after the session.

  • Happy World Yoga Day!!! Loved this little photo session from two years ago with my friend Jai.

Yoga came into my world when I was 14 or so via a spread in Seventeen magazine. The teachings on consciousness and human evolution, non-violence and non-attachment, connecting to sacred sound and stillness have forever changed my life. I struggle with many aspects of how it came into my American reality and how to respectfully share it as part of my work ... and am consoled that the deep teachings aim to benefit all of humanity and point us towards unity, compassion, and love.

Little did I know then that we’d visit Jai in his 20+ year home of Varanasi India twice in these last two years! Miss your face, Jai! And if ever any of you are in Varanasi, once we can travel again, Jai runs an incredible tour company featured in Lonely Planet called Varanasi Walks.

See ya maybe at noon for my Zoom Yoga? Scroll to the last slide for the Zoom codes. 25% of class proceeds today going to Spiral Collective. SPIRAL is a 100% volunteer run & operated QTPOC-centered reproductive justice collective.

  • June 11 would have been my lil’ Yoga Studio’s official 4th anniversary! I’m tearing up looking at all the memories. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to run a yoga studio. It is what brought me to Minneapolis and in many ways saved my life with such a positive thing to focus on in the midst of personal upheaval. Meeting sooo many incredible humans and digging into the healing powers of yoga, meditation, and community is good for the soul.

We hosted Kundalini, Power Vinyasa, Aerial Yoga, Viniyoga, Yoga for People of Color, two Trauma-informed yoga trainings with Firefly Yoga International, cacao ceremonies, sound healings. We offered free community yoga at Midtown Farmers Market and the MN State Fair and sponsored Twin Cities Veg Fest and MN Music Coalition. Every month we did a “Plant Based Yoga” class with a meditation for compassion, vegan potluck, and donations went out to all types of compassionate organizations.

I miss seeing you all there — especially now. We’ve been closed now just over a year (jan 2019) and I have deep respect for all small business owners everywhere. It was hard enough to pay the bills and payroll while open!!! And now during Covid, Ei yi yi!

I’m grateful to still be able to practice with some of our instructors (today did Kundalini with Lauren!) and stay in touch with so many of you. And grateful for the Imbue community to coming to my retreats and zoom classes. My life is so full for having tried it. And maybe again, someday. Loving you, Imbue crew. Peace and be well 🙏🏼🦋💛
.

Ps The Future / Gigi’s Flair Emporium are the AMAZING businesses that took over the space. Please follow and support them and buy their stuff! @thefuturempls @gigisflairemporium

  • Spend 4 Weeks with Kali & Durga - Online Series Begins tomorrow June 8th 7-9pm

Mondays: June 8, 15, 22, 29
7-9 PM on Zoom
$108

This 4-week online Nada series focuses on the archetypes of Kali & Durga to help us build Shakti (power) for inner strength, protection and dissolution of outworn structures. As we chant powerful Shakti, Vedic, and Devotional Mantras we'll invoke and align with these fierce and loving goddesses. Kali helps us channel righteous anger and achieve spiritual liberation, fierce love, and ecstasy. Durga builds physical, mental, and emotional strength for personal empowerment.

Learn about the myths and lore of these goddesses who kicked butt on the battlefield. Feel them awaken in you as you fight the good fight' against not only the demons out there, but the ones you wrestle with in your mind as well.

Each week we'll weave mantras, meditation, movement, and Yoga Nidra with teachings about these Hindu goddesses.

To reserve your spot, send $108 to Cindy-Sherman-15 on Venmo or to treespirityoga@gmail.com on PayPal or via Mary's website marybue.com/shop
