🐰Hoppy Easter🐣 I am officially obsessed with these gorgeous Easter handmade cookies from @viwiscorner - locally made in Whangārei! I’ve been looking for something like this for ages and now I have found someone - I will definitely be ordering more cookies in the near future! Viwi’s Corner makes glossy buttercream floral cakes and customised icing biscuits 👌🏼 These cookies spark joy 💫
My little ray of sunshine 💛 I gave our linen cupboard a makeover last year (or was it the year before 🧐) and it still brings me joy today, especially after a bit of a declutter and tidy 👌🏼 Here’s how I organise this space... Top shelf: cleaning supplies, house maintenance items etc 2nd shelf: face clothes, hand towels and towels (I moved our beach towels to the hot water cupboard) 3rd shelf: in the baskets I store spare sheets and duvet covers Bottom shelf: Picnic blankets, in the grey boxes I store spare winter sheets and curtains (for M’s room and Office) I have a small pile of blankets, sheets and duvet covers to donate 👏🏻 and mink blankets to put on beds 👌🏼 Are you doing any decluttering today?
It’s been a while since I last saw the floor of my office or the shelf in my hallway cupboard! Have you heard of the expression ‘eat the frog’? As Mark Twain once said “If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning”. The frog is your worst task, and you should do it first thing in the morning. In this instance, my frog was the office, including the hallway cupboard - where I keep all of my teacher resources, Stationery and crafts etc. Term 1 was crazy and I often found myself just chucking stuff in the cupboard or plonk it on my desk to do later and I knew I would regret it, and I did! I had a plan to move my teacher resources into a cupboard in the office so I can access them more easily and have crafts & Stationery etc in the hallway cupboard. I knew it was going to be a big job however I was determined to get it done and eat the frog 🐸 I also took this time to purge anything I no longer wanted or needed...I filled a rubbish bag 😱🤗 Now everything has a place...I do have two boxes of resources to sort through tonight to finish off a job well done. Check out the before and after photos in my stories! 😶 What task are you putting off? ‘Eat the frog’ 🐸
Making little changes to our home that spark joy 🌟- like this ladder shelf in our living room. Originally I had a 3-shelf ladder shelf (with a desk), with four boxes underneath, filled with CDs, DVDs, photos and other memorabilia. Yesterday I emptied all four boxes and was left with an empty space, exposing our cords. I found this four shelf ladder shelf at @thewarehousenz and it’s perfect for the space and is now adorned with my favourite things 👌🏼 I love it when spaces come together and they spark joy - this is definitely a personal power spot for me🌟 Do you have a personal power spot?
It’s been an emotional week for me...and when I’m emotional or feeling overwhelmed with what’s happening in my life, sometimes I crawl into bed and hide and other time I clean and organise. 15 minute tidies didn’t happen much this week and the house was in a state! So I put some 90s music on (best cleaning music) and got stuck in. Here’s what I achieved today: - Kitchen: I went through all the cupboards and drawers and gave them a tidy, returning everything to its place and discarding a few items. I cleaned out the fridge too, ready for grocery shopping tomorrow. Dishes done, benches cleared ✅ - Dining Room: cleared and wiped dining table, and picked up everything off the floor. There was a lot of stuff in this area, so it took me a bit longer than 15 minutes - feels and looks much better now! - Lounge: packed up toys, tidy couches, and wiped coffee tables. - M’s Room: washed and dried new winter sheets, made bed, tidied room, and put clothes away. - Master Bedroom: you couldn’t see the floor! I decided to KonMari my clothes today, discarding a big bag of clothes that not longer spark joy. Now I can see the bottom of my wardrobe and find items with ease 🙌🏼 Now that I have reset my home, I’m going to write a list of things that are not working in each area of our home and tackle them. I want to gain control over my home and get to the jobs that I’ve been putting off for too long. What’s on your to-do list this weekend?
Swooning over my new slippers! Thanks @kmart.nz 🥰 Have you got your Winter slippers yet?
|| Set Me Up Sunday || It’s been a while since I’ve shared a ‘Set Me Up Sunday’ (inspired by @organisingthe4ofus)...and today I definitely need it! Last night I caught up with my gal pals and had a blast!
