Union Academy's women's varsity basketball team will host its second Youth Basketball Camp this summer from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 11-15. The camp is open to both boys and girls going in to grades K-9. . Students will participate in fun games and contests, get training from UA varsity basketball players and coaches and receive a camp t-shirt. . A class from Wingate University along with their professor, Karen Dunn, will host a media literacy program from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 in the Upper Campus Multipurpose Room. The program will include a presentation and breakout discussions led by Professor Dunn and her students, and it is recommended for all UA parents and fifth- through 12th-grade students. . Discussion topics will include social media and gaming, cyber bullying, eating disorders and body image, advertising to children and teens, and new research about the effects of violent media on personality development.
The Middle School Junior Civitan Club visited Wolfe School yesterday to spend time with the students and add some spring colors to the campus! UA students laid pine straw and planted flowers around the school. . When they returned to Upper Campus, our students planted some of the extra flowers at our school’s entrance. No one is too old for Play-Doh! Mrs. Supernavage’s high school anatomy students used Play-Doh today to make models of the human respiratory system. The activity helped them prepare for a quiz they will have later this week. . Way to get creative, Mrs. Supernavage!
