  • Just wanted to officially let all you sweet sweet patrons and patrons to be know that I’m back in the studio working and taking on new projects/commissions. Amazingly, I have a commission roster happening and slowly but surely I’m finding the time between feeding and cuddling bébé to get the work done. You guys literally make my dreams come true so don’t be shy and thanks a milllllll!

  • Where we all began - a period that never flowed. A cute little short little story about the story of life by me. Once upon a time, you were nothing but a tiny fertilized egg that travelled down a Fallopian tube and nestled into the endometrium of the uterus you inhabited, it was that very uterine lining (that purposefully never shed) that kept you fed and nurtured. Until your placenta grew big enough and strong enough to support you, it was that nutrient rich endometrium that did exactly that. Yada yada yada and then you were born. Yada yada periods are amazing.The End.

  • This installation piece/photograph/artwork concept came about shortly after the conception of our little human baby. Experiencing all the wild changes of pregnancy affected me and my practice in ways I didn’t expect it to. Like a lot of people, I’ve always had a complicated relationship with my menstrual cycle but growing a human encouraged me to developed a new appreciation for this monthly occurrence. It’s hard to imagine (given their unfortunate negative reputation) that periods are actually incredible life giving forces that kept us all safe and healthy for the first trimester in utero. It’s difficult to fathom that when given the opportunity, the uterine lining; the endometrium; essentially a period that doesn’t flow is what nurtures and cares/cared for your little embryo of a baby (or YOU back in the day) until your placenta is/was fully formed and ready to take over at 12 weeks. I mean woah! Such a valuable and meaningful role for something that is so often pissing people off and grossing people out. It’s basicallly bananas and periods are actually way cool when you get to know them. P.S. @trinacaryphotography shot this installation for/with me. And thank goodness for talented/creative friends and art and biology and the ability and desire to draw parallels and document. C’est fun.
