Can't imagine this past year without @timothyateek 's friendship. Thankful for a friend, encourager, sermon prep guru, storyteller and brother. So grateful this guy was willing to drive from College Station to challenge and encourage us at @cbc.college Common Ground last night to live lives of faith and not fear.
What an incredible night at @cbc.college Common Ground last night. I've been so excited to jump into our new series called Do Something Big, gleaning truth from men & women in the Bible who spent their lives for something greater than themselves. That's my desire for our people, our church and our city. It's my joy to serve faithfully in the field alongside these young adults as God shapes us into men and women after his heart. I also baked my first loaf of bread for this sermon, which is hiding behind those cloths 😏🍞.
God's adventure is usually bigger and scarier than we would plan for ourselves but so much more rewarding. I think we're often scared that choosing God's way means giving up on our dreams... But what if he just wants us to dream bigger, risk bigger and trust him more for something greater than we could have asked for or imagined? I've loved getting to talk with you guys about what God is stirring in you after watching the @thisismetv doc in my profile. Thankful God has used my story to encourage some of you to trust him with yours.
Humbled and honored to have @thisismetv share my story. You don't live your story hoping someone will tell it, but it was really special for me to see what God pieced together in my life with every yes that I gave him. As you watch, ask yourself what God might be asking of you in your life, maybe your first yes is to God himself. I'd love to hear. Link in profile.
Sometimes your amazing friends get you amazing gifts... like these custom @cbc.college converse. Love you @the_beardedhunter & grateful for your friendship.
END IT ❌ For the 20 to 46 million people across our globe who are trapped in slavery, many in our own country... We raise our voice for you. IN IT TO END IT. #enditmovement
He’s finally home!!! Wow, I can’t help begin to imagine the unspeakable joy that Dr. Graham is experiencing today as he sees King Jesus face to face and hears the words spoken over him, “well done! Well done!” I was honored to have gotten to hear Billy Graham preach the love of Jesus while I was in college and was forever impacted. Grateful for this man’s legacy.
Last night was POWERFUL as we peeled back the misconceptions we've believed about sex and looked at God's word to be reminded that He designed sex for a purpose, that when used for that purpose it is a treasure to be celebrated. And most powerfully, we were reminded that no matter what our past with sex looks like, we are invited to not live in shame but to be made new in Jesus. This is good news! Sex is powerful, but Jesus is MORE powerful. Being good doesn't make you pure, being forgiven and redeemed by Jesus makes you pure. And praise God that invitation is extended to each of us. Also, we love our friends at @enditmovement and are so thankful to join in the fight to help put an end to modern day slavery. #enditmovement
Please join me in praying for hundreds of middle and high schoolers who will have the opportunity to learn from the life and story of Joseph this weekend in Tulsa. We're talking about how God is using you when the pressure is on, and how he is faithful even through obstacles and negative situations. A timely topic this week and I'm grateful to be able to worship with and speak to these students. #lifttour18
