Guilford College basketball teams opened Old Dominion Athletic Conference play last night in the Ragan-Brown Field House. The women’s team is off to a 4-1 start while the men’s team is 2-3. Photos by Abigail Bekele #1 Guilford men's basketball junior forward Alston Thompson dunks against Washington and Lee University. Thompson had 16 points in the Quakers 94-90 loss to open ODAC play. The team was ranked first in the ODAC Preseason Poll but has struggled so far and has a 2-3 record. #2 Guilford women’s basketball senior guard Lauren Ramsey dribbles up the courts with first-year center Julie Carini. Guilford opened ODAC play with a 60-30 victory over Hollins University. Ramsey lead the Quakers with 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Carini set a career-high with 14 points off the bench. #3 Guilford women’s basketball first-year guard Jasmine McBride sets up the Quaker offense against Hollins University. McBride has been a key first-year for the team and has started four of the five games so far.
