Over the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to travel more than I have in years!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Right this second, I’m boarding a plane to go back to one of my favorite places, Nashville 😊⠀ .⠀ .⠀ And of course, I wouldn’t be traveling if I didn’t take the opportunity to find a bookstore along the way! ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ This beautiful #bookstagram shot is from my visit to @parnassusbooks a couple months ago. Parnassus Books is an independent bookstore for independent people and they even have shop dogs 😍⠀ .⠀ .⠀ What’s one place you love to visit? Bonus points if you can name an independent bookstore in that town!⠀
Despite the lack of seasons and the constant heat, I realized this weekend that I should be thankful for the little beach town that I call home.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ At any moment, I can walk along the water or listen to the palm trees sway. People give up their vacation days to come here and I get to experience it every single day.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ It’s crazy that I’ve taken this place for granted for so long. From now on, I’m going to experience my hometown as if I’m a tourist and I encourage you to do the same.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ COMMENT: An emoji describing the place you live & one thing you love about it!
Happy Saturday!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Today’s challenge is to tag someone in the comments below and tell them something that you find beautiful about them 😊⠀ .⠀ .⠀ And every day moving forward, I hope you create the habit of spreading kindness and compliments daily 💕
Yesterday was #WorldMentalHealthDay and it made my heart so happy to see everyone sharing their stories in an effort to #BreakTheStigma .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ As a #ChronicIllnessWarrior myself, it has long been my mission to break the stigma towards mental and physical illnesses. I talk a lot about my conditions, having received over 20 diagnoses, and I cannot emphasize the importance of self-care and a great support system enough!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ The women in my family have struggled with their mental health for as long as I can remember. I alone have been diagnosed with PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression. Something I fell weird about sharing, only because of the stigma behind it.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ That’s exactly why I started the “Letters to Me &” nonfiction anthology. I wanted a place for people to share their stories, educate others, and give hope to those going through something similar.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ I want each of you to know that it’s ok to own your story and you were meant to go through the trials that you have to be where you are today. You are bigger than your diagnosis!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Take a moment to describe yourself below & make sure to tell me something that you admire about yourself too. Don’t be shy! 💕
Something I value greatly in an influencer is vulnerability and that’s why I think it’s so important to be honest with each of you. . . With that being said, this reminder couldn’t have come at a better time! . . I absolutely hate that my passions have fallen behind to the tedious tasks of my day to day life. I was so incredibly excited for my relaunch and the refocus I had tried to put forth in my life. Only to be met with obstacles in my path. . . It sucks knowing that I haven’t created content in weeks, that I’m behind on emails, and I haven’t touched my books in months. Finding balance between working a full time position, fighting chronic illnesses, and following your passions is no easy task. . . I’m beyond appreciative for the support system I have in place even if I don’t lean on it as frequently as I should. And I’m happy that I stumbled upon this quote today because I needed to hear it. And if you’re anything like me, I bet you needed to hear it too! . . I hope that each of you has a wonderful day today! And I encourage you to take a small step toward your future this afternoon. Whether it’s listening to a podcast, trying a new recipe, or taking a walk around the block; just get started!
I can’t believe we’re already a week into October!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Will someone please tell me where the last month has gone?!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Or better yet, will someone please tell me where the last 6 months have gone?!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ A few days ago, LinkedIn reminded me to celebrate my 6 month anniversary with my current company and I honestly hadn’t realized I’d been there for that long.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ They’ve opened up so many doors for me in the short amount of time that I’ve been there and I’m so incredibly grateful for the opportunities that I’ve been given.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ I can’t wait to head back to Nashville in a couple weeks and continue making amazing connections for my future.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ What do you have to celebrate this month? Tell me in the comments below! 👇🏻
I can’t believe we’re already 4 days into September! . . . I hope that each of you guys had a great Labor Day weekend and started September off right! . . . As you guys know, my goal for this weekend was to relaunch 3 of my websites on September 1st. All of them went under a complete redesign, logos, colors, and all! . . . It took late nights and everything I had, but I met my deadline! I honestly didn’t think it was possible, but I’m so proud of myself for pushing through it! . . . What goals have you set for this month? Tell me in the comments below 😊
