Challenge yourself to be better; every day 💪
The dumbbell lateral raise is a staple @mpttransformations and great for: - Developing a V-Shape taper - Increased shoulder mobility - Stronger, healthier shoulders How to do the dumbbell lateral raise.... Stand with dumbbell in each hand at your sides - Keep your back straight, brace your core and then slowly lift the weights out to the side until your arms are parallel with the floor, with the elbow slightly bent. Then lower them back down, again in measured fashion – you’ll find it all the harder if you avoid speeding up. A lot of people will cheat by “shrugging” the weights up using their traps. Resist the urge to do that by not raising your shoulder blades during the rep – instead focus on the deltoid muscles. Go get it, guys! 💪
Take a day off, have a cheat meal; just don't quit....
Who wants to elevate their metabolism! Then go out there are get some green tea; green tea is a thermogenic, meaning it elevates your metabolism by increasing your core temperature. It is also good for fighting illness and increasing energy levels. DON'T LIKE GREEN TEA? Try adding a different flavoured tea bag with the green tea bag, such as a peppermint or berry flavour. This will not only enhance the flavour but give you more benefits too. T2 also have some great green tea flavours also. I recommend having 2-3 per day. Hope you all had a great day!
Get it done, guys. Do it for YOU! 💪💯
Monday's; the day where it all comes back. Weekend's over and a fog of stress can wash itself over us again for another week. If not managed, stress can be detrimental to everything in our lives. Our advice on minimising stress; 1. Watch what you eat: Food has a direct effect on energy levels. When we are more lethargic and tired, and surprise, we are more stressed. Its important to eat in a way that GIVES us energy, rather than taking it away. 2. Sleep: If your weeks are so stressful that you write yourself off every weekend to feel better to forget your problems, you actually make things worse the following week. 3. Embrace it: Often we are stressed by our blessings. Don't take being busy or in a relationship for granted.
Hey fit mummas; we see you! Being a parent is difficult. No question. The strain you put on your body when birthing children is immense, and to get back into a routine can be difficult. Some people take years to even attempt to get their bodies back, resulting in massive losses in strength and increases in body weight. Remember, as the mother, you are the centre of your families' universe; you are the sun. Everything you touch is made better and reliant on you. Take care of yourself and the flow-on effect will be a healthier family. We see this every day. Keep it up. We see you, and we are proud of you ❤️💯
Beef; an underrated and misunderstood food, due to fear of its saturated fat content. So, why should you eat it? Yes, red meat does contain more fat than some other protein sources; however, the majority of the fat in beef is monounsaturated. In addition, about one-third of the saturated fat comes from stearic acid, which does not affect blood cholesterol. There is significant debate about whether or not saturated fat increases risk for heart disease. Lowering saturated fat in the diet will lower LDL cholesterol (bad), but it also lowers the HDL (good cholesterol), which is protects against heart disease. Our advice; eat lean cuts of red meat and mince 2-3 times a week.
Preparation is key; are you prepped for this week?
