Today I'm handmaking all my mini blocks for September's Vintage Market Days in northern Utah...this is the smallest art block I make. Next week I'll start on size 11x14 and larger. Next to creating the art, being in the wood shop is my favorite part of the process. #studio #homedecor #lifedancestudios #makersgonnamake
Tree tent camping...
I wrote these words over a decade ago... A few years ago I found out quite by accident that they've been shared on social media thousands of times. It was humbling to know that they touched hearts and lives far beyond the heart and life of the dear friend who I initially wrote them for. Now I'm sending them out into the world again in the form of a greeting card... They won't be in the online store for a couple of weeks but if you'd like one for yourself or a friend just DM me...#gratitude
When I was little, I spent a great deal of time at my Grandma Minnie's house. Since Grandma lived in town, and her house was prominently situated on Main Street, the aunts found it a convenient stopping point on their way to or from their country homes. Morning coffee klatches were their way of sharing news, friendship...and down home wisdom. Once such snippet of sage advice proffered was Sow what you want to grow. Since I was quite small at the time, I initially thought the phrase had to do with stitchery...possibly someone sewing or embroidering leaves or flowers on a dishtowel or pillowcase. At some point, in conversation with Grandma, I came to understand sow meant to plant. And that the phrase referred to the getting out of life what you put into it. For instance working hard if you want to reach your dreams, or being kind if you desire kindness in return. Often I've been discouraged because what I thought I was working toward didn't come to fruition. More than once I've wanted to give up because challenges seemed too insurmountable, or heartaches too extreme. But then I remembered Grandma and the aunts and those morning coffee klatches. How those sweet ladies that I loved navigated the tumult in their lives with dignity and grace. They taught me that giving up isn't an option...and that the promise of a brighter tomorrow is sown with seeds of hope. #mynotquiteperfectlife #hope #celebrateliving #gratitude #lorinawyn #dailyquotes #illustration #illustrator #dailymotivation
My humble little studio in the mountains...for those of you who have followed along for awhile, just a year ago this was our home...before that we lived just a few feet away in a travel trailer after deciding to make some major life changes. Looking back on the challenges of the past couple of years reminds me of how far we've come and of adventures on the horizon... #studio #artlicensingshow #artstudio #gratitude
Despite record high temps and a hoard of grasshoppers, my first little green peppers are starting to grow. A lot of my garden is in containers this year...up and away from the pair of wild rabbits inhabiting the yard! #garden #sunshine #wallart #gardenart #shoplifedancestudios #lorinawyn
Hard to get a good photo and dance at the same time...we had a great night Thursday with country western band Restless Heart! #utahisrad #cherrypeakresort #restlessheart #loganutah
