I think the Collins kids have *always* believed there should be more horses and palaces in their lives. 🐴 🏰 #pleasehelpmedrasticallylowertheirexpectations #ohwaitthatwillbenoproblem
This is where my grandmother walked, with her baby strapped to her back, days after her husband and her city were both destroyed during the war. It is where she rented a room on the ground floor of the neighboring villa, where she would meet my grandfather, the handsome young medical student who lived there, where my mother and aunt would come on weekends growing up, where some crazy great uncle buried a still yet unearthed treasure. It’s sort of magical to feel that connected to a place. #familystories #myhappyplace #tinyhouseinthewoods
This is exactly what today felt like. #ahh #takeitwhenyoucan
The old king's castle is now one of the most gorgeous parks I have ever been to, and if you time your visit for a Saturday or Sunday there are public piano recitals of Chopin's music. But my kids were more interested in stalking the peacocks that roam the grounds. #ofcourse #beautifulpoland #haveiconvincedyoutocomeyet
It is impossible to take even a stroll around Warsaw without remembering some great heroism. You might never have guessed it, but the old town behind Josephine was leveled, along with 85% of Warsaw, after Poles mounted the single largest military effort to halt the Nazis in 1944. Immediately after the war, Poles started rebuilding the city from the bricks they scavenged from the rubble of war. Its beauty today fills my heart with pride for their bravery and resilience.
Warsaw is my favorite. 💕💕
