These last couple of weeks have been stressful, but I think that’s been a good thing for my art. I realized three of the four I’ve made in the last month were dark, moody colors, but I painted this fourth piece, “Mardi Gras,” on election day when I started to feel more hopeful. In hindsight, I think that’s why I began to use brighter colors again.
