My dad will never see this post because, well, I don't think he even knows what Instagram is. But that's him in the red shirt. If I had to credit one person with imbuing me with the pursuit of knowledge, it would be him. Indeed, it was his own fixation with states and capitals that prompted me to learn all of them at about the age of 8, and to subsequently embark on a life-long quest to visit them all. Fittingly, I was precisely that age when this photo was taken (far right). It just happens that Florida (don't be fooled by the pretend New York skyline) was the first of the fifty. He instilled in me the importance of a curious mind, something I've retained to this day. He also instilled in me a horrid sense of fashion, which I have not. Happy Father's Day, dad.
