IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! 🎉🎂 okay my birthday was yesterday, but here's me tucking into some vegan red velvet cake at @baadglasgow ❤️
I know this is not the most ~instagram worthy~ of foods pics, but I have to rave. This is a takeaway I had last week from Choptix in Glasgow (delivered via Deliveroo). It is hands down, the best takeaway I've had: green Thai curry with tofu. 🤤 And it was labelled vegan!
Because I'm a millennial bore and an Instagram hoe, the house plant trend was going to get me eventually. Everyone, meet Angelina the Anthurium. 🌺🍃 . #plantsofinstagram #plants #plantsofinsta #plantsplantsplants #plantsofig #indoorplants #anthurium #royalanthurium #plantsofi #flower #flowersofinstagram #flowersofinsta #flowersofi #flowersofig
Another recipe from Veganish by Holly White: spicy roasted cauliflower. It was lovely, but calling it a main is questionable. It's going on my list for buffet style dinner parties.
Last month marked seven years since I moved to Glasgow. And let me tell you: as much as moving to Glasgow felt right, I didn't know many people down here and that was scary biscuits. Thankfully, at my very first job I met this gemstone who has remained one my closest girls ever since. . Today, Facebook reminded me that it's seven years since we became friends. I distinctly remember adding her because I wanted to invite her to my upcoming 22nd birthday party (I'll be 29 soon....) even though I didn't really know her and she just seemed cool. But not long later, she's be the first time I'd experience platonic love on a big scale. . @rachele_tamburrini - I love that you challenge me and we chat things out, I love that I can tell you the nitty gritty of my life and that I can be my honest self, I love how brave you are, I love that you care so much about the world, I love that your extroverted and bubbly personality balances my introverted and quiet nature, I love that you've known me for years and through different stages of my life, and I love that time we got chips and curry sauce for lunch. Enjoy this old photo of us at The Garage in 2014. ❤️
I've been off work this past week with very few social plans...so it was time to attempt a more complicated, time-consuming recipe.😬 . I opted for the Lemon and Raspberry vegan cheesecake from Veganish by Holly White. And oh boy, did I have a time making it! My hand blender broke 1/4 of the way through and I had to use my smoothie maker! So alas, the texture is questionable, but the flavour is fresh and zingy. 🤷 You win some, you lose some.
Happy Halloween. 🔪❤️🎃
I'm off this work this week (for Halloween, because I'm cool 🎃) and to start off I went for a catch up lunch with @emmagreer95. We headed into Partick to visit the 100% vegan Suissi Asian Cuisine! It was absolutely delightful, tasty, and one of the best meals I've had in a while. I'm definitely keen to go back and try more of the menu. . A note on friendship. I was feeling emotionally and physically exhausted between Friday - Monday and had achieved very little with my time off thanks to a stress headache. Catching up with a favourite made so much of a difference, after offloading why I'd been feeling meh. And my week off work has been A LOT more productive since. ❤️
We're now a week into Scorpio season, aka my favourite part of the astrological calendar. Us Scorpios get a lot of hate, but as a proud Scorpio (in my sun, Mercury, Venus and Pluto!) I'd like to take a stand. . Until about two years ago I was, shall we say, a nervous person who lacked boundaries and self-love. Growing up as a shy girl I clutched onto my star sign as hope that I could one day be a confident badass, just like all Scorpios are. These days I have worked through my issues surrounding self-confidence and social nervousness - and I feel more Scorpio these days because of it. . But even now, when I'm having a bad day I remind myself that Scorpios don't take shit, and will knock over things that stand in their way. Thank you to the stars for aligning the way they did at my birth....if I was born when I was due I would have been a Libra cusp!
It's cold outside so I warmed myself up with a bowl of coconut, butternut squash, and chilli soup. 🤗
I've decided that it's time I upped my lip liner game. So here's me in my new Makeup Academy lip liner in Agenda. Shout out your favourite vegan lip liners in the comments. ❤️
Today was an exhausting day. I received my flu jab, thought I seen someone from my past who I never want to see again, and then attempted a post-work swim but my exhaustion got in the way so it ended up being a post-work paddle. 😣 . When I left swimming I was craving comfort food. And this was all I found in Tesco AND Co-op. I wouldn't normally buy Wicked food because it's damn expensive (this was £4) but it is a treat yo self day. Needed something hearty and warm, and this did the trick. It was delicious, though I'm not going to make a habit of buying it. . And on the upside, I came home to find that my Halloween costume had been delivered. 🎃
