They did it!!!!!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We got a new brother today (officially!!!! — though let’s be real, that happened a whilllle ago @dr_jayrock ) and it was basically the best day! Nothing could rained on their day 💛 @beccaswann and @dr_jayrock, we couldn’t have been more honored to be a part of such a special day! We love y’all tooo much! Also, couldn’t finish with this caption without thanking @abbygracephoto and @nataliefranke for stepping in a HUGE way so that I could be present as a bridesmaid for their day... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Except for when I stole the camera out of Nat’s hand to shoot this one 😂🤷🏼♀️🙈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #SorryNotSorry #BeccaHitAGrahamSlam
ONE day people!!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That’s all. Happy Saturday! 💛
There’s something about that almost-autumn glow 😍 I cannot believe that it was almost a year ago that I was photographing this amazing couple’s wedding day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Saturday is officially the first day of fall and I’m over here counting down the days ‘til (slightly) cooler weather is upon us! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It got me thinking... what do you think is the best part of fall?! Tell me 👇🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My top 3: football 🏈 , the fooooood (butternut squash and chili anyone!?) 🥣🍽🥘, and the foliage 🍂🌾. What about you!?!
It’s crazy to me that this is what our house used to look like! (Please note the convenient cropping out of that hideous blue carpet in this photo. And also, that wall is now a complete goner — all of my dreams of telling Morgan “can’t we just take down that wall” finally came true!!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’re almost finished our renovations to our first floor, and I cannot wait to share more soon!! In the meantime — I think I’ll just take a sec to appreciate what was! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sometimes things that you want to change, are still worth soaking in and appreciating! 💛 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #TheSwannHouse
Today I found myself stuck out in the rain as I was harvesting some of the last of the flowers I grew this summer. If you know me, you know that this was quite a feat for a #recoveringplantkiller. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What struck me as the rain started to turn from mist to big drops was how interesting it is that sometimes the weather outside seems to align with the struggle and feelings we’re internalizing. It feels only appropriate that on the 17th anniversary of the day that the Twin Towers, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania were attacked, even the earth seems to be mourning with us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It hurts my heart to think about all of the people who’s families and friends were devastated by such insatiable evil. The ones who didn’t even know that they’d be grieving that day. The ones who are married to, are children of, the heroes who laid down their lives in the ultimate sacrifice. It feels so heavy! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And so today, as I spent some time out in the rain reflecting, I couldn’t help but think about the power and life lessons that these silly flowers have the potential to hold. They cement that for everything there is a season, that sometimes heavy rain can knock us down, but still we can choose to be resilient. And though when they’re cut, they last only for a small time, flowers can bring such joy if we let them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If I could, I’d share a zinnia with each one of you, because the truth of the matter is, we all have something that we’re wrestling with. And if I could, I'd send a bloom to each of the family and friends who lost someone this day 17 years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #NeverForget
