Did I tell you guys I got an InstantPot? I was legit terrified the first time I used it (What if I’m doing it wrong? What if it explodes? What if my food comes out burnt and weird? The unknown was killing me 🙈). That first meal turned out fine and now I'm obsessed with it! What's your favorite healthy InstantPot recipes? Bonus points if it's easy and I can find it on Pinterest 😂
One of my former brides sent me a message recently thanking me for a photo I took at her wedding of her and her sweet momma dancing at her reception. Her momma has passed since her wedding 4 years ago, and although she cherishes her wedding photos, she cherishes that one image of her mother laughing with her on the dance floor in a moment of pure joy most of all. -- I haven't stopped thinking about it. This is why I love what I do. Yes it pays the bills and puts food on my table....but it's so much more. So much more than a job. When we as photographers make it a point to say that you should hire a seasoned professional because of moments like this for my bride, it's because we want you to have your memories down the road when it matters. When it really, really matters. We care about our clients much deeper than simple surface level. — So whether it’s me, or another photographer, choose one that has the experience to run a wedding day, change things at the drop of a hat, and sees the things that no one else does ❤️ It’s worth more than you know.
Torrential downpours leftover from a hurricane and a power outage at the reception could've made for an awful day for any bride and groom, but these two handled it with such poise, style, and ease - I wouldn't have wanted to spend yesterday with anyone else.❤️ -- I'm beyond thrilled for Grace & Alex and I can't wait to share more of their gorgeous @cincyartmuseum wedding on the blog soon!
Being a small business owner is hard ya'll. It's stressful with long hours and lonely days, lots of dry shampoo and sweat pants, and uncertainty about so many things. -- There are so many things make it all so, so worth it. Amazing clients that love us, appreciate us, and value us. Other vendors that know the value of team work and have the same mentality of where all in this together (luckily, there are so many of these in Cincinnati). -- What else? Our competition. Some of my closest friends, my favorite people, are my direct competition. While others get offices or break rooms to share with their co-workers, we have found our own way to bounce ideas off of others, have like-minded conversations, or just have late night laugh sessions over drinks and food. We lift each other up, encourage each other when we need it, and celebrate each others successes instead of tearing each other down. -- This job has given me so much, including the sweetest tribe. If you are lucky enough to find a tribe like mine, as a small business owner, it's like finding gold. There are a lot of things that make this job hard, but so many more things that make it worth every second ❤️❤️❤️
Catching up on the last of my editing today before a wedding this weekend and I’m finally watching Friday Night Lights after legit YEARS of my friend bugging me to. I’m just beginning season 2, but so far, I’m loving just about all the characters with the exception of a few (reallllly can’t stand Julie Taylor - maybe that will change later 🤷🏻♀️). Anyone else a FNL fan?
