I’m doing something super retro. But do you remember what this little app was like back in 2012?? I do.⠀ ⠀ I remember posting about my first time to Whole Foods or sharing a picture of my college dorm room. I remember friends seeing my posts and getting excited about the story and not the quality of the photograph. I remember it felt a little bit more like a scrapbook. A place where I could share little snippets of my life with close friends. And can I just say, I miss that.⠀ ⠀ So I’ve decided to do something crazy. My instagram posts will stay being mostly photography work and pictures of me (like this one is ayeeee). My highlights will mostly feature events and trips to give that little scrapbook feel. And I’m going to start messaging accounts I love to follow and tell them that they are AMAZING. Why am I doing this? Because I’m all about creating a beautiful community and reminding ourselves that this app was originally built for just that. Community. ⠀ ⠀ So comment on someone’s post. Message that account you love. I promise it’ll make their day and maybe it’ll inspire them to share that love with someone else. ❤️⠀ ⠀ 👏🏻👏🏻 Let me know if this post lit a fire under you!! Let’s let those flames roar!
Just wanted to pop on and say life is good.⠀ ⠀ I’ve been worried less about keeping up with social media and focused more on friendships and being more intentional. There are only so many hours in the day and life is so fleeting and precious. It’s funny how some time away from the screen can show you that.⠀ ⠀ So stop the scroll and do that project you’ve been meaning to do. Hang out with that friend you’ve been meaning to text. Because those things are real and lasting. Social media is not.
They say laughter is the best medicine. Maybe it has to do with the endorphins released that help relieve stress. Or maybe it's because laughter is contagious and when we see someone else smile, we can't help but smile too. So give someone a smile today, because it's too good to keep to yourself.
We had 15 min for portraits and the sun had already set. But they trusted me and let me take them down a dark alley anyways 😂 Trust is a big factor in photography. If your clients cannot trust you then it’s so hard to get their true personalities to shine through. Which is why you can expect me to do anything and everything to get you feeling good and happy. Even if it means making a fool of myself. 😉⠀ ⠀ I think another couple of mine said it best, “From the moment I met Erin over coffee I knew she was the perfect photographer for my wedding! She was personable, receptive and super friendly. I felt I'd known her for years!...She went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and even suggested some things for my wedding I hadn't thought of throughout the planning chaos! She was confident, professional and incredibly sensitive to my needs and desires as a new bride. She made me feel calm and assured that everything would be taken care of. My photos were absolutely STUNNING. She captured the essence of our boho backyard wedding perfectly and our quirky personalities to a T. Erin's magic behind the camera radiates from her, you will know it from her sweet smile + the sparkle in her eyes!”⠀ ⠀ I still can’t believe I get to call this my job! Thanks to all the past and future clients for making this little dream come true!! ❤️
I almost died when editing this looking at Raven’s cute crinkly nose. I mean how precious are they?!⠀ ⠀ It was such an honor to capture some photos of these two love birds. David lives in London and Raven lives here in Wilmington. They tie the knot this summer and I know they’ll be over joyed to finally live in the same county and city! Also selfishly I’m pretty excited to learned all the cool English phrases when David moves here and we can with hang them all the time 🙌🏻
Swipe right for a behind the scenes!⠀ ✨⠀ When you’re doing a shoot at the fair, obviously cotton candy is a must. Thanks to my right hand man @brandonallenczy for making sure our models are well fed.⠀ 😂⠀ Also Graham and Morgan here are great friends of ours! Graham and Brandon used to share a bunk bed in college and he was a groomsman in our wedding! We love getting to do life with friends and we’re so happy Graham has found such a wonderful and beautiful girlfriend!⠀ ✨⠀ Alright so who wants to do a fair shoot with me now?! I promise we’ll give you all the cotton candy at no additional charge.⠀ 🍭
I have the weirdest dreams ever.⠀ ⠀ Last night I dreamt @brandonallenczy was deep sea fishing and had a terrible accident (he doesn’t even fish 🤷🏼♀️). He lost his right arm and left leg (sorry babe) and was now wheel chair bound. Fast forward and he was coping and recovering but we were scheduled to get our pictures taken. But I handled it like a pro and I knew exactly how to pose and position us for images even though he was wheel chair bound. So if anyone wants to tell me if there’s some deeper meaning behind this dream..that’d be lovely.⠀ ⠀ Anyone else care to share a weird dream they had?! So I know I’m not the only one 😂
Marriage looks a lot like this.⠀ ⠀ Children acting like adults pretending we’ve got it all together. Adults acting like children after a long day and we want to hide from reality.⠀ ⠀ Whatever adulting means, I’m just glad I’m doing it with you @brandonallenczy. ❤️
