This beautiful girl and her precious pups are on the blog today! #linkinbio Every gift and every season is deserving of celebration. Elin wanted to take the time to celebrate the memories and love her dogs have given her as they grow to be over 10 years old! This session was so sweet and reminded me of the importance of treasuring every blessing we are given. Plus, who doesn't love pictures with their puppies?! #averyearlportraits
Do you ever have this is what I was made for moments in your life? Those moments in your life that you feel the pleasure of God shining down in your heart when do you a specific thing? I want to chase after those moments. Those minutes mean I'm using the gifts. The ones God has specifically given to me. I grew up not thinking I had any specific talents. That I wasn't particularly quite good at a given thing. Now realizing that God instilled within each person unique gifts and talents, I am rejoicing in the journey of discerning my gifts. Those this is what I was made for moments? They're when I walk down the streets of Michigan, talk about great ideas and books over rainy morning coffee, and spend the day listening theologians speak wisdom. They're when I get home from a photo shoot or a wedding with the knowledge that I had the extreme privilege in rejoicing with others in the gift that is their own life. Those moments? Chase after them. There's nothing more fulfilling than chasing after the different gifts and loves the Lord has given you. They were, in fact, made specifically for you.
The Kieta family is on the blog today! Click the link in bio to view one of my favorite sessions I've ever done! The efficiency a mother has because of her knowledge of Him becomes a fragrance and a pleasing sacrifice of satisfaction to God. The fragrance of her knowledge of the Lord that she bestows to her children through her actions is pleasing to the Lord. The consistent presence a mother chooses to have in her children’s life is equivalent to the continued presence of a fragrance of a garden that has been carefully tended. She is not one who peddles the word of God for physical profit, but speaks truth continually into the lives of her children because of the worth of the children knowing the gardener of their souls. #averyearlportraits #averyearlmotherhood
Happy Day to the fathers who stand behind us and encourage us into who we were made to be. To the ones who govern us, love us, and direct us. To those who have the responsibility of being a fatherly Christ figure in our most important moments and formative years. We thank you for all that you do, sacrifice, and work for. Without you we wouldn't be who we are. #averyearlportraits #averyearlmotherhood
In The Horse and His Boy, C. S. Lewis creates a conversation between two characters. A horse, in awe upon encountering the mighty Aslan for the first time, kneels before him and utters, “Please, you’re so beautiful. I’d rather be consumed by you than fed by anyone else.” The first time I read this I couldn’t help by stop in utter amazement at how C. S. Lewis illustrated a proper response to the power of God. God as the source of all beauty deserves the entirety of our lives. It is better to wholehearted give ourselves to him than to seek out pleasure from any other source. I don’t know about you, but this is hard to do. It’s hard to entirely give ourselves to him when other things seem to give us momentary pleasure. With each passing day I pray that I become increasingly aware of what I am giving myself to and viewing my life in light of the eternal. That's one of the beautiful parts of life on earth: the daily running and pushing towards eternity knowing that one day all our efforts will have been worth it because of the beauty of our King.
Summertime means flower time and that fact couldn't make me happier! #averyearlweddings
Children are potential undeveloped waiting to be cultivated. Mothers are gardeners who take an active stance towards the change of their children. They guide them to flourish and blossom. Gardeners are ones who rearrange and dig up with purpose. This is the pattern of the life of a mother. One of creativity, cultivating, and care. Gardening takes the physical material of the soil that it might produce food (Tim Keller), as mothers care for the essence of their child's God given soul so that they might produce fruit. #averyearlmotherhood #averyearlportraits
