On the road to North Carolina today for another amazing wedding this weekend with another incredible couple, and I can't help but reflect on how many wonderful opportunities being a wedding photographer has brought me. I get to be in some pretty cool places. I get to hang with pretty cool people. I get to observe pretty cool cultures. But my favorite: I get to be a part of the happiest day of our couple's lives. I could not ask for more than that. Also, going through @realkeelie and @sanjaymd wedding photos and, boy oh boy... I CANNOT WAIT to share these. These two, their families, their wedding... I can't even begin to describe how happy these two make me for letting me be a part of such a fun event.
On the road again today on our next adventure and I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather do a roadtrip with. @geoffrey_blaine this next week is going to be a blast! ✨✨Photo by the amazing @drakeandeliza ✨✨
Wherever you are, whatever you do, stop and feel exactly where you are in that moment in time. Take in every second. When hanging out with @innayas at @forestandfallsworkshop last month, we hiked out to the base of a waterfall. After settling in, I asked her to close her eyes and just listen to the water behind her. Feel the wind wrapping around her. Forget everything that's been on your mind. Just be. Exist in the moment that's happening now. It was so exhilarating to watch the walls come down and to see her truly embrace her surroundings.
It's officially the weekend and I couldn't be more excited! Also, aren't these two just the sweetest? In home sessions and snuggles are the best 🙌🏼
Her hand in his, he became her tomorrows. - atticus When things slow down around you, look for what you haven't yet gotten to know. You will find you connect with it immensely and deeply.
I just love a good black and white portrait. Also, miss hanging with @evhopman.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. - Audrey Hepburn I am at a loss for words when it comes to the wedding I was able to be a part of this past weekend. Two cultures, two families, two lovely human beings coming together for a day full of life, love and celebration... What. A. Day. Thanks to Akilah and Sanjay for having me there to watch you two get married. Your kindness and grace are an inspiration to me. I also couldn't have asked for a better assistant, @elizabethtrahan. I knew she would be a wonderful addition to the team simply because she valued what we do at a wedding. She loves people, she looks for the moments, big and small, and cherishes the relationships she gets to peer into on a wedding day. I couldn't photograph Akilah getting ready simply because I was with the groom for the baraat, but I knew Elizabeth had what it took. And she surpassed my expectations. Akilah, you are beyond beautiful, through and through. You are you.
