Spring is nature's way of saying 'Let's party!' - Robin Williams
First time out of the house all week and I'm finally starting to feel better after that wicked cold. We are off to get this boy's haircut, one of his most favourite things ever. It's sunny with blue skies here so we are going to spend as much time as we can outside today. Have a gorgeous day you lovely lot! - Thank you so much for all of your great feedback on my bilingual blog post. It's so interesting to learn about other families doing it as well. If you haven't read it yet the link is in my bio!
- New Blog Post - I'm sharing our bilingual life and what it's like raising our boys in both English and French. I talk about our family dynamic, how we communicate, and advice on how to integrate both languages into your daily life in a fun way. This has been a highly requested article so I really hope you find it helpful! (link in my bio) 🇫🇷❤️🇨🇦 If you are raising your children bilingual please join the conversation. I love hearing stories about immigration, family dynamic, and communication!
First day of spring and I hear the birds chirping outside from my cosy bed. I'm still fighting this darn cold so with my little nurse in bed I will be resting and drinking lots of tea. I'm so grateful Oslo is at the nanny today so I will actually be able to nap a little. Being sick while looking after two babes is no joke! I hope whenever you are the snow is melting, the sun is shining, and there are blossoms awakening. It's just the best time of year and my absolute favourite season 🌱🌸🌼💛
Let the wild rumpus start!
We braved the rain, grabbed our wellies, and went out to our favourite forest for a much needed family walk. Now we are back home and watching a movie all cosy on the sofa. My perfect kind of Sunday 💛 What are you up to today? Any fun plans?
These early days when you are figuring out how to be a mother of two. The balance is hard, you are physically and emotionally exhausted. You try to find time to focus on your older child while nursing, resting and recuperating. At times it's overwhelming and you wonder if life will ever go back to normal. If your older babe will adjust to this massive change and if he will ever love this new addition to your family. It was harder than I thought it would be and I struggled finding a balance for the first few months. Now eight months in I can't say things are perfect, however we have found our new normal and I simply love it. These two are pure joy together and they love each other, that's obvious and all I ever hoped for.
Don't mind me I'm just that super creepy mum who watches her child as he sleeps in her bed. I'm grasping at these moments like there's no tomorrow, because I know how quickly they will be gone. Oslo is starting full time preschool in September four days a week (standard in France), and I feel as though my heart is being tugged at hard and my eyes will fill with tears any time I think about it. I've been lucky enough to stay at home with him these first years of his life and I will forever be grateful for it. Until September when my boy starts school and turns 3 I'm going to be here with him soaking it all in while it lasts. Any other mamas out there super emotional for their babes to start school or are you excited about it? And do you have any tips on how to make a smooth transition for them? ❤️
He's the birthday present that keeps on giving. If I'm being honest I wasn't thrilled when I realised we would be sharing the same birthday. I just thought this is the one day I get out of the year that's all mine, and now it's gone. After thinking a lot about it I now find it kind of exciting. Yes I'm sure for the first few years the spotlight will shine just on Louie, but once he is a little older we can have special birthday adventures, just us two. It is the day we were both born, the day that brought us together, and the day that made me a mother for the second time. It's the most important day of both our lives, so what an amazing thing that we get to share it together. This year on July 3rd I am turning 30 and Louie is turning 1 which is much cause for celebration!
Embracing the spring season that is sure to arrive any day now with some pops of colour. I've never been one to wear bright colours and love sticking to neutrals, so it's been fun adding some pinks and light blues to my curated closet. If you're curious what my curated closet looked like this winter, I wrote a blog post all about it last month (link is in my bio). Happy start to the week my friends!
