I've had a busy few weeks and the next few aren't any less busy... July is my busiest month this year but I refuse to let it overwhelm me. Hoping your Monday is off to a great start and you are running into your week on full!
My bride @kylieswanson posted that it's her 6 year anniversary and I pulled up her old blog post and relived every minute of her destination wedding at the Four Seasons Punta Mita! (link in profile) I will literally never forget the hurricane, the laughter, the little Mexican lady that carried an umbrella over my head for the ceremony, the food, the incredibly fun Heitz family, the mojitos, the memories, the friends we met whose weddings we photographed later, and how much fun my husband and I had on this trip! We laughed and cried with this family and we will never forget it! It was literally a trip of a lifetime and we have so many great memories of this day!
The BEST! Meaningful and pretty words by my friend @lindsay_letters
Do we still throw things back on thursdays?!
So many feels for this lady right here. I met Erin and her sweet mama at a coffee shop back in 2007 when I was convincing her (and myself) that I was a wedding photographer. They believed in me and trusted me and I photographed her wedding almost ten years ago! I look back at my work at that time and cringe at the black and white photos with the flowers in color 😳 However, that started a friendship with Erin and her sweet family that is SUCH a blessing to me. Over the years I photographed three of their family weddings, engagements, and bridals and also all FOUR of Erin's births. She makes birthing a baby naturally look like a walk in the park and I am convinced she holds these babies in until I get there! I had the privilege of photographing her 4th (and final) baby this week. I drove fast to the hospital when she called! I arrived at the hospital and she pushed the baby out FOUR MINUTES LATER. It is so fun that I know every single family member of hers that comes to the hospital. I literally cannot put into words what it's like to have known and walked with an entire family photographing all their big moments for almost a decade. ----- I have learned so much from their family. I have teared up at each birth when Erin's sweet daddy comes in to meet the baby and within minutes he gathers up the entire family and prays over this new life and gives thanks to Jesus. I have learned about parenting from her sweet mama as she has told me numerous stories that I hold dear to my heart like when her youngest daughter wanted to sleep next to her parents in their hotel room for the last time the night before her wedding 😭I have watched their precious grandmother play the piano for her granddaughters ceremony music. I have watched Erin support and encourage and be the coach's wife I hope to be one day! I witnessed them introduce their third child to Erins father in law who passed away just a few months later. I have watched them go thru hard and good times and I look up to all of them in so many ways. Erin, your friendship is such a treasure to me. Thanks for believing in me ALL those years ago and for giving me chances to redeem myself after the wedding photos of 2008 😊
Loving these outdoor newborn sessions!! There's a small season of time where it's not too hot or too cold to have babies outside and we take full advantage of that season!
Today is the official first day of summer?! I've been summering for weeks now!
