Spending some time in Shreveport to celebrate our record-breaking freshman class - including a 70% increase from the Shreveport-Bossier area — and exciting news about our healthcare partnership.
Spent some time yesterday afternoon celebrating LSU’s role as an international leader in all things coastal by visiting with our faculty, staff, and students. LSU is a Sea Grant institution, and our College of the Coast and Environment is home to some of the world’s foremost experts in wetland ecology, hurricane protection, and coastal preservation. On top of that, nearly every college and department across campus has work focused directly on the coastal ecosystem that is so critical to our state.
Mark your calendars for “Behind the Ballot: Examining the Influences and Trends Driving Modern Elections.” This symposium will span two days (Oct. 29-30) and will engage faculty, staff, students, elected officials, civic leaders, and the community at large. All are welcome to attend this important event, which will feature everything from discussions on the history of voting rights, an exploration of specific issues affecting Louisiana voting, discussions looking at the art, music, and clothing used during campaigns, and the evolution of news and social media, as well as much, much more.
