The Locarno Band, with Special Guest Tonye Aganaba, will be turning up the heat from 5 to 8:30 pm at The Night Market this Thursday, August 8 at Gyro Park in Trail. Vancouver based Locarno is the Latin project of Tom Landa, the frontman of Juno-award-winning The Paperboys. With members from world music supergroup BC World Collective, Locarno’s music, like Tom, is part Mexican with strong doses of Cuban Son, folk, pop, funk and salsa, all with a modern edge - danceable, fun Latin music. Joining Locarno is Tonye Aganaba, a multidisciplinary artist, musician, and singer. Tonye’s style is fluid and best described as a mix of Soul, Neo-Folk and R&B. Organized by Trail & District Arts Council in partnership with Trail’s incrEDIBLE Farmer’s Market, the Night Market is a fun evening of food, vendors, live music, and beer garden, all in the beautiful setting of Gyro Park. For updates on the event, including vendors, go to our Facebook event. Whether you want to picnic, shop, or dance, there’s something for everyone. All for just a minimum $2 donation! Remember to bring cash for all those goodies and our prize draws. This show is made possible thanks to funding from Kootenay Savings, BC Arts Council, BC Touring Council, the Government of Canada and Teck Metals Ltd.
