A truly magnificent art collection of the aristocratic Doria Pamphilj family. There are masterpieces by Velázquez, Caravaggio, Titian, Raphael, Bernini... I liked the fact that the ticket price includes an excellent audioguide narrated by Prince Jonathan Pamphili himself. One of my favorite spots in #Rome
Rarely empty, the magical Bridge of Angels, shining in the morning sun... There are no words to describe the feeling of crossing the Tiber River all by yourself early, early on a summer morning, surrounded only by the strikingly beautiful angel sculptures designed by the artistic genius Bernini. It’s really easy to miss if you’re not looking carefully - all the angels are holding objects related to the crucifixion of Jesus
#Rome - living La Dolce Vita (making time to do nothing but stroll, discover, eat, linger and enjoy the most beautiful thing that this eternal city has to offer - pleasure)
An exquisite art work by Bernini (1622) at #GalleriaBorghese This marble sculpture depicts the Roman mythological story of the Abduction of Proserpina, where Proserpina is kidnapped and taken to the underworld by the god Pluto. All the stunning lifelike details (specially Pluto's fingers sink into Proserpina's thigh) carved by a sculptor only 23 years old at that time make this piece of art one of the most impressive I have ever seen... Bernini masterfully turns marble into real flesh and emotion
Rome is wonderful early, early in the morning when even the café tables are not set yet...

Finally, in #Italy again! It's been a while... but they say: contrary to popular belief, summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things happen to quiet, patient people... #Ciao from #Rome (more on my IG story)
