A day of ups and downs on the city streets // Full of dancing strangers, broken guitars (!!) and kind conversations. On days like this there is always a choice to be made. Either succumb to the weight and pressure of a difficult day and pack-up early, or meet the challenge head-on. And on days like this, we folk dance a little harder, sing with a little more emotion, strum until our fingers are numb and smile through every difficult moment. And you know what? It feels pretty damn satisfying when you get to the end of the day. Every time. So push through those hard times, friends. See them as an opportunity to prove to yourself just how deeply you want it. You got this. Big love.
If there's one thing I want you to know and feel deep within you as you wake up this morning, it is that you are loved far more than you believe you are. Yes, you. That you are not your mistakes, your regrets, your flaws, your errors of judgement, your emotions, your body, your thoughts, your mental illness, your face, your struggle. That you are not defined by these things, no matter what the world around you is telling you. We all wear scars. We all know hard times. We all need to know that someone cares. You are not alone. You really, truly are not alone. 🌙
Phew. Exhausted. What an insane day. Our show listing sure is looking nice and healthy as of late. Big smiles. Just.. feeling happy. We all are. Spending many hours writing and arranging and street performing and playing long shows. Meeting a lot of really kind people who are just all about the music, you know? It's inspiring. Getting to every evening and collapsing onto couches, completely spent. It's good. It's really good. Hoping your world is bright, folks. And if not, our thoughts are with you. Because you deserve to know every bit of the beauty this life has to offer. You really do. Big love.
A backstage vocal warm-up. Featuring a room full of beautiful natural reverb. We couldn't resist.
Oh man. Suffice to say we are all pretty damn exhausted. And electric with inspiration. What an insane couple of weeks. I have a thousand and one song ideas running through my head this morning. Felt a lot of love both on the city streets and in each venue played. People dancing together under hot stage lights, crowding around a picnic table at midnight eating questionable-tasting pizza, laughing through bleeding fingers, embracing tearful strangers on city street corners, accidentally sitting on a banjo backstage (I'm so sorry again gah), falling asleep to Mayer in the car on the way home.. Good times rolled. Friends, if you have yet to make any plans this Easter weekend, why not come and spend a little time with us at the Botanic Gardens this Sunday. Sweet vibes, clear skies and a tune or two. Big love, folks. ⚡️✌🏼⚡️
Oh what a night! A big thank you to everyone who came out and danced with us. You really made our night. Beautiful. Bound for Bleach Festival tonight for an acoustic show at six o'clock. Smile. Big love.
An inspiring evening of busking. Thanks to everyone who came out and listened. Truly means a lot to the five of us, folks. We'll be playing the Old Museum tomorrow night with the amazing @theeastpointers. Come on down and join us for some folk-dancing, tambourine-shaking, harmony-belting music. Big love.
The week ahead is looking bright. Come and spend a little time with us, kind souls. ⚡️⚡️
