One of my new year’s resolutions was to walk more with friends... now if they (the friends) would stop being isolated by world pandemics I might actually get to keep this one... or maybe I should change it to walk more with the husband and only do it locally, I’m definitely on my way to keeping that one. In other news, there are like 10 extra farms around where we live that I never knew about. Here is one.
Trig point views ~ looking over Glossop thinking it looks like a nice place to live... if I can’t convince the chap to move to Scotland maybe this could be a compromise?
The Pennine Way - 268 miles, 3 national parks, 2 countries, the backbone of the UK. A challenge for a later date, but one I’d love to do having seen so many snippets of it on my walks.
Time to get some fresh air into my asthmatic lungs again today!! More important than ever to keep healthy. What a better way to do it than go explore? Looking forward to seeing what the Peaks hold for us today (whatever the weather).
I’ve just invested in a new OS map for the north peaks, because as yesterday showed me, damn it’s pretty there (soz for the shameless pun 😂). I’ve got the OS app but nothing beats planning out a route with a highlighter and pencil... I might even laminate it for our hike 😂 #hikinggeek
I love how many people were out walking today, I guess people are starting to emerge from their winter cocoons/hibernation. We explored Dovestone reservoir and the surrounding moors (and other reservoirs) for the first time today. What a beautiful place, and only a short drive away down the M62!
The days are getting noticeably lighter, and although I love all seasons, spring on the horizon is always a welcome sight.
And with that, my four weeks recovery period is over. It was so nice to be able to get back out and about, although my fitness level has definitely gone down hill. Only one thing will make it better, keep getting out there! Mother Nature if you could just hold on the storms over the weekends please, thank you kindly. 🥾 🥾 🥾 Views from Sword Point looking down towards Swinsty with the Harrogate golf balls on the horizon. IRL you could even see the snow on the hills in the distance.
