Iconic 1979 poster for St. Marks Baths, namesake of The Saint nightclub. The artwork by sci-fi illustrator #BorisVallejo was based on a 1970 painting titled “Fist of Power.” Sci-Fi writer #SamuelDelaney wrote of his epiphany visiting the baths, “My first response was a kind of heart-thudding astonishment. What this experience said was there was a population, not of individual homosexuals, not of hundreds, not of thousands, but rather of millions of gay men, and that history had, actively and already, created for us whole galleries of institutions, good and bad, to accommodate our sex.” #BlackParty2018 #RitesXXXIX Celebrating 30 years since the closing of The Saint nightclub.

#tbt Spring 1982, Linda Clifford performed at The Saint. “I sang Runaway Love and incorporated some of the guys from the audience... and they went insane. And I thought to myself, I’m in heaven. On the ceiling, it looked like stars. Maybe that’s why I relate this whole thing to being in heaven.” #BlackParty2018 #RitesXXXIX Celebrating 30 years since the closing of The Saint nightclub
