A small backyard farm of Sampaguita in Pampanga. Our journey to appreciate aromatics in our country takes us places and allows us to meet very nice folks. Sniffing the light and divine floral aroma of Sampaguita is an enchanting experience. It is a smell that is not only rarely captured in a bottle but expensive as well. It doesn't yield fragrance to distillation but to a more expensive solvent extract called absolute. #naturallyenchanting
Here's our schedule of workshops this October and November. We've prepared nice ideas and new recipes for the DIY Holiday Gift Ideas workshops, to be facilitated by @jleanne85. We're also continuing the module for Essential Oil Safety Basics for the serious EO user who wants a deeper and structured understanding of working with essential oils both for home or your crafts by our founder @senorlorenzo. Message us for more details!
We transformed our workshop area into a Hilot Room in support of our Traditional Healing Modality. Rediscover its help to our bodies like the way our ancestors have been with Hilot and local herbs. If you believe Philippine products, show some love to our traditional Hilot. Please get in touch with Traditional Hilot Healing at 09338100014. They'd be at our store until 7pm October 11. We've also created a special oil blend for them to use, guided by their specialists, inspired by these traditional Filipino herbs: Tanglad, Luya, Yerba buena and Ylang-ylang.
Ever heard of flammable fruits? We've finally gotten our hands on some Pittosporum resiniferum or Petroleum nut. Its native to the Philippines and prevalent in the vicinity of Mayon Volcano and in the Cordilleras. If you squeeze the fruit, out comes some oil which catches flame very easily. Crazy right?
That calm feeling when you sniff Ylang-ylang. Its sweet, floral fragrance aligns our being to Peace and Love. Many Filipinos would say amoy simbahan or amoy matanda and rightfully so not only because it reminds us of garlands sold during Sundays in churches but it connects us to spiritual aspects and our inner selves. On a rough day, close your eyes and smell Ylang-ylang. #naturallyenchanting
We've been very supportive of things natively found here in our country, and this includes our traditional way of healing, Hilot. Working with the heirs and students of the late Dr. Bibiano Boy Fajardo, the man who dedicated his life in understanding the Science of Filipino Traditional Healing, Pop-up Hilot sessions at our store will be happening this October 10 and 11, 10am to 7pm. For those interested, please contact the Association of Traditional Health Aid Givers (ATHAG) at 09338100014 to reserve a slot.
The grapefruit didn't seem to have worked out. Oh well, there's still 3 more we haven't eaten yet.
We're open today, Sunday because of our EO Safety Basics Workshop. Just in case you want to drop by, we're here until 6pm.
Some studies show that Rosemary Essential Oil is good for the hair and scalp. A dilution of 1% Rosemary EO in carrier oil will already produce interesting results.
Got some grapefruit lately and they smell lovely! Inspired by a recent conversation with @anagutch, we're saving the peels and attempt to do some cold-pressed oils just for fun, when we finish eating the pulp :) Do you think cold-pressed grapefruit essential oil has phototoxic constituents?
Our last DIY Workshop this month happens on Saturday, September 29. This one's facilitated by @jleanne85 of Couchwasabi and there's still a few slots left. Get to learn about creating DIY stuff from castile soaps, essential oils and other natural products right at your own home! If you're free this Saturday, message us to sign up or for more details.
We're rescheduling our workshop for EO Safety Basics to September 30, Sunday. This will cover some technical details of essential oils, benefits and risks, topics on dilution fundamentals and limits, plus many others. There's also a bit of hands-on stuff to do. Good fundamentals for individuals new to essential oils, while the more advanced oilers will find this workshop informational and a good starting point for deeper learnings about the complexities of EO and the human body. #Safetember
When diffusing Essential Oils, always be conscious of the room size, air flow, type of diffuser and amount of EO used. A diffuser will be more effective in a small, enclosed room vs a big one with open windows. Diffusing too much or too long has been known to cause respiratory irritation to some. Usually an hour of diffusion with moderate amounts of essential oil can give desired results already. #Safetember
These Elemi Essential Oil we distilled from the wildcrafted resin of Canarium luzonicum trees. An alternative to Frankincense, it not only smells awesome and uplifting, it has many benefits to the skin. Limit from 0.5% to maximum 1% if to be used on lotions, facial serums, and other leave-on products. Here's your chance to try this for FREE. Yup, we're giving away 10mL Elemi Essential Oil. Just needs to be picked up from our store in Pasig. Check out the instructions on our website and look for the FREE STUFF.
EO Safety Tip: When mixing essential oils with unscented soaps, stick to the range of 1-3%. Too much may be too overwhelming to the senses and the chance of having adverse reactions increases. Most of the time, below 1% is sufficient enough. #Safetember By the way, our Unscented Soaps are on 30% discount this month!
