Mavs of Colorado Mesa: Richard Nguyen Mass Communication Class of 2018 Longview, Texas “Since I’ve been at Mesa I’ve fallen in love with the Maverick culture that has put me in touch with so many people who have helped me discover who I am. Everyday I get to interact and meet new people that opens doors to opportunities I’ve never had anywhere else in my life. My favorite memory here has to be an outdoor program trip I took this past summer. Just being with so many different people learning so much about them is something I value more than anything else. I’ve become so involved with Student Life this year because I care to help individuals on their journey, just like I was helped on mine. I’ve found such a huge passion in seeing others succeed and today I can’t imagine my life any other way. #MavsofColoradoMesa

Love comes in all forms and Dillon and Nathan found it as a friendship. CMU brought Dillon, from California, and Nathan, from Texas, together the first day of Ambassador orientation. Since then the duo have spent their friendship rock climbing, playing Frisbee and enjoying all Ambassador-related activities. And they still have two years at CMU to strengthen their friendship. This is one of four pairs we’ll feature today who found love and/or friendship at #CMesaU #ValentinesDay
Love can strike at any time and for Ashli and Anna it happened on the 2nd day of Ashli’s 2nd year at CMU ❤️ Now more than a year later they are both thankful CMU brought them together. Anna from Connecticut and Ashli from Aurora had a chance encounter at a Gay Straight Alliance meeting. Ashli walked in the door, a little late, and everyone at the meeting turned to stare and Ashli’s eyes fell on Anna. She knew right then and there Anna would be her wife one day. Anna will graduate this year and move to the Front Range to get settled. Ashli will join her next year when she graduates. A little bit of luck and CMU brought these two together forever. This is one of four pairs we’ll feature today who found love and/or friendship at #CMesaU #ValentinesDay
Love comes in all forms and Shania and Abby found it as a friendship. ❤️ During the last four years they’ve lived within 10 feet of each other. From their first meeting as suitemates in Monument Hall to now. Their friendship has spanned late nights in the library, hiking, rock climbing, river rafting, flag football, concerts, pushing one another to succeed in their chosen field and traveling across the country. These best friends have shared a lot of memories and can’t image the people they would be without each other or CMU. This is one of four pairs we’ll feature today who found love and/or friendship at #CMesaU. #ValentinesDay
Love can strike at any time and for Avery and Molly it happened at freshman orientation. ❤️ Now four years later as they prepare to graduate they are both thankful CMU brought them together for late night study sessions, rugby games, RA trials and triumphs, and growth as individuals and together through their college years. This is one of four couples we’ll feature today who found love and friendship at #CMesaU. #ValentinesDay
Mavs of Colorado Mesa: Brittni Nack Senior Violin Performance Major Grand Junction, CO “My passion is my violin. His name is Jean-Baptiste and he was born in Paris in 1920 to a proud Collin-Mezin. He's the love of my life and I am blessed to spend every day listening to his beautiful voice. My favorite teacher on campus is my violin professor, Brian Krinke. I have learned so much from him and I am already thinking I will stay an extra year just to study with him. My favorite spot on campus is my favorite practice room. I spend a lot of time in there. There is an electric organ in it that gets loud enough for me to hear a drone while I'm practicing. Jean is loud, so I can't always hear my phone's drone over him very well. The mirror is in the perfect spot to watch my bow and posture without ramming my bow into anything. It's cozy.” #mavsofcoloradomesa
