Another incredible birth in the books. This is one of a jillion of my favorite images from Patrick and Lindsay’s birth story. Lindsay exuded this inner glow and calm, peaceful inner strength like I’ve never seen before. Her vision for the birth of her fourth child was to labor outside and to feel glam. She nailed it. Patrick was ever-present, gentle, loving and incredibly supportive. I loved watching these two work as a team as they waited to welcome their precious child into this big ol’ world. Gosh, what a glorious privilege to document the magic and miracle of the human body, just as it was meant to be. Let me tell ya, being on call when the Rocky Mountains are your playground is no easy feat. But it’s worth it. Every. Single. Time.
elopement, n. — No longer shotgun weddings or secretive nuptials, elopement are no longer defined by their last-minute runaway nature. Instead, they’re fueled by intimacy, personality and intentionality. Sunrise rock scramble elopement? I’ll take it. And I hope you would, too.
Hey! You two! @darciehuff you’re married now and I miss you!! Probably my favorite adventure session of 2017. . Elopements and mountain adventure sessions on my mind as we head through the tunnel on our weekday ski day. And get ready, ‘cause this girl’s got her backcountry boots on the way and, despite extreme summer hiking/backpacking fever, can’t wait for some backcountry elopements! #hellyeah
I miss my lil’ Hawaiian Explorer Princess somethin’ fierce. And her Mama and lil’ brother. But in 70 days, 19 hours, 43 minutes and counting...they’ll all be touching down on my soil at the base of these beautiful Rocky Mountains!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, I can’t wait, @brookeflanaganphotos. Also, can you please zoom in on that incredibly precious nose scrunch? Doodle, keep smilin’ and twirlin’ with reckless abandon. Don’t ever hide those freckles. Keep scrunching that nose and being the best you EVER!!
I know, I know. It’s International Women’s Day, but I’m posting a picture of my dog. Well, she’s my #1 girl, my ride or die, my constant companion and she inspires me. Because truthfully? What I love about Syd is what rocks about all my sassy, fearless, awesome, bold and badass ladies out there. She’s also the only one I can convince to hang and snuggle and run and play and explore with me 24/7, and the only one I’m willing to share my hubby with.😜
Content may be king, but relationships are queen--the crown jewel. I believe they are the lifeblood of any business and to cultivate and nurture amazing relationships is wisdom. When you invest in knowing and loving PEOPLE and community, you build a solid foundation, a well you can return to over and over again. As outgoing as I may seem, I'm naturally quite introverted and I deeply prefer smaller, more intimate dates/conversations over larger networks/meetings. ((But sometimes you gotta do the big guys to find your few.)) Recently, I have had the immense privilege of foraging wonderful new relationships, of connecting with my people so quickly and easily I can't believe it. And honestly? I think it's openness. It's the embrace of opportunity and possibility with people. It's taking a leap of faith in the name of some common ground so that you can stand and walk together. It's going out an inch further than you're comfortable on that limb. It's a rush and it's always rewarding--even if it just means more courage for the next go-round. 🏔💕✨ Yesterday, I got to start my morning with one of my first Denver floral crushes, @beetandyarrow . They're a small but mighty team of incredible talent providing whimsical and winsome design for lovers, dreamers and adventurers. I'd say we're on the same page, wouldn't you? Anyway, I left feeling like I met a sweet sister spirit in Kimberly and I'm so glad I went out on that limb just to chat. It's just a sweet perk for my adventure-lovin' couples to get sent somewhere so special for the epic florals of their dreams.
Don't be in someone else's shadow. You can't lead from there. --@abbihearne ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many times, we shy away from harsh light, but what I love about it is exactly what it brings into view. Everything else falls away and what remains is exactly what needs to be seen. Here's to filling my business with a lot of light, to stepping out of shadows of fear and doubt and directly into a bright, illuminating adventure. Every. Day. // absolutely loved this light on Kim and Ryan against the stone giants surrounding the Yosemite Valley during their adventure newlywed session 🏔✨
Just talking about skinning gets me amped. There have been a few times in my life when I’ve really felt like I was truly hitting the groove, doing things I was meant to do. I’m a passionate, adventurous person, so it’s hard to find the *real* groove when you love a lot of things. But never have I felt it so consistently. This place, my people, my playground of activities...and my career. The level of amp and stoke happening under my hood these days is unbelievable. And I wanna share it with you. So, couple things: I’ve got a running list of epic wedding and elopement ideas. We should chat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, @acwong I’m ready for more backcountry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Until then, it’s about time for Funday Friday—when we play hookie and hit the slopes.
That van life, though. There's no better way to let our wanderlusting hearts roam than to just do it. Roam. Go into the wild. Road trip the world. And rest easy because you have made all the days good, rich and full.
Last week, I embarked on a lil' workshop journey to Yosemite with @thehearnes and @maddiemaephoto and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made for my business. I'm stoked to fan the flame and connect with you amazing like-spirits out there who are amped for adventure and ready to swim against the stream to tell the epic story of a wedding day that feels uniquely YOU. So tell me, what's the wedding or elopement of your wildest adventure dreams? ✨ s/o to these rad lovers for adventuring with us, @_kimw_ and @slackinhigh
This is the coolest girl I know and I couldn’t be more stoked to spend these days with her walking to and from school, doing homework, exploring the beach, catching critters and lugging them home, reading Harry Potter and dragon stories at night. Doodle, you are ever curious about the world around you, incredibly kind, super athletic and fantastic at problem-solving. Don’t ever lose your sense of wonder, never stop exploring and keep on goin’ sister. I love you and I’m so amazed by you.
Take me to Hawaii and I post a picture of my sis and the mountains. But lemme tell ya—that water is blue, those palms are awesome, the breeze is fab and I like it all! #ohanameansfamily
I met Clary and Dustin just before the morning sun kissed these ol’ Rocky Mountain peaks. Both from Missouri, Clary grew up skiing in Breck and dreamed of Colorado engagement photos. It was their last day of vacation and we all rose before the birds to make it happen. These winter mountain sunrises have easily become my favorite and I love getting to share them with clients near and far. Awesome fact: Clary’s gorgeous ring is a family heirloom that belonged to her grandmother before her. They didn’t have to do a thing to it and it’s absolutely perfect. 💍💕✨
👋🏼👋🏼it’s me, Ashton, and my girl Syd. As I say around my house, “Syddie’s my best girlfrand.” Wouldn’t wanna make T jeal. And as you can see, she’s the other pea squeezed in our pod, my dog half and spirit animal. Anywho. Throughout the holidays, we didn’t feel super rested or refreshed. January is also a jam-packed month, but we’ve been able to steal away some QT in nature with friends and our gal here. Weirdly, I’ve been feeling more energized and excited to dig into off-season biz things and I think it’s because we finally embraced the space that nature offers us. Today, we’re enjoying a quiet, slow morning before church and then we’ll prep for the getaway week we have ahead. Tomorrow, the Ferg Force heads for the mountains! 2018, brang it onnnnn!! 📷: T👱🏻♂️💕
Mountains. It's what we do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Y'all. Decisions are not my thang. I open up this lil' app and wanna share all kinds of goodies, but I can never just PICK something and move on. I'm tryina' work real hard this year on not overthinking, just trusting and consistently showing up. Last weekend, we had the BOMB pleasure of trying something awesomely new thanks to our friend, @annacwong and her outdoors-lovin' crew. We went on a backcountry hut trip that required an Alpine Touring ski setup, skins, avalanche gear, backpacks, lots of layers (to be shed) and a penchant for work, fun and the God-filled glory of nature and solitude. Nevermind skiing in straight pow, the rush I get from all things new, or the air I got on some lil' jumpies. (I totally yipped and hooted.) It. Was. Awesome. And I can't wait to make it my winter thing with my Aussie girl, Syd, by my side. Zoom in to see dem mountains in Thomas' goggles! I think I get to be a kid forever in this playground.
