I’m totally a last minute Lucy so I’m feeling super proud today because I’ve already got Henry’s Valentine’s Day gifts ready for his classmates! He is loving dinosaurs lately so these gift tags from @acupcakefortheteacher are perfect. I printed the cards, bought the dinosaur erasers from Target, and already had the fun blue and white baker’s twine. The baby may not have napped a wink today but I’m going to call this day a win. 💪🏻 . . . #teachermama #valentineforkids #teachersfollowteachers #teachersofinstagram #preschool #kindergarten #prek
If you haven’t tried using magnetic chips and a magnet wand for phoneme segmentation, you’ve got to! I try to put a little bit of fun or novelty in what we’re learning—especially if it’s a skill we continuously spiral back to— to keep my little scholars engaged (and to make it more fun for me!). It’s little things like this that do the trick. What’s your favorite little trick for keeping things fresh and fun in your classroom?

Try this sight word game tomorrow! You just need an empty egg carton, small circle labels, pom poms (or other small manipulative) and a marker. Write the sight words on the circle labels and put one in each compartment. Your little scholars will close the lid, give the carton a shake, and open it up. They’ll pick up the pom poms one by one and read the words underneath. This activity can be used with letters and numbers too! #teachersofinstagram #teachersfollowteachers #iteachk #iteachprek #iteachpreschool #earlyliteracyskills #prekteacher #spongeactivity #sightwords #sightwordgame
I love taking a peek in other teacher’s classrooms and Insta is a great way of doing that from your couch! 🛋 I’ve put together a list of some new kinder teachers for you to follow if you’re not already. Take a peek at their feeds and hopefully you’ll find a good idea or two you can use in your own classroom!
2018 couldn’t have ended better! 👶🏼 We welcomed this sweet little guy, Hayden Joseph, to our family on Friday. Going from one to two kids has already been a challenge and feeling stretched between the needs of a very active and verbal toddler with a newborn has me feeling overwhelmed. I’d love to hear your advice on managing the transition of adding a new baby to your brood! 💙
