Sophya Mirza, a rising sophomore at California Academy of Mathematics and Science, had an incredible experience attending Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama this summer! A recipient of The Mars Generation Space Camp Scholarship, Sophya developed her aerodynamics & engineering skills working on the ISS ( International Space Station) prototype, building and driving rovers on martian terrain, and experienced 3gs of forces in a simulator and 1/6th of gravity! Sophya hopes to attend MIT and double major in Aeronautical Engineering and Computer Science. The Mars Generation Program provides 100% funding for youth with an aptitude for STEM but without the resources to attend Space Camp. #spacecamp #spacecamp2018 #girlsinstem #diversityinstem #themarsgeneration #astronaut #femaleastronaut
