You know the greatest lesson of history? It’s that history is whatever the victors say it is. That’s the lesson. Whoever wins, that’s who decides the history. We act in our own self-interest. Of course we do. Name me a person or a nation who does not. The trick is figuring out where your interests are. All the Light We Cannot See . . .
I finished everything at work and I'm partially free, which means I have more time to read. . . . I bought these books months ago and I'd really like to read them. I haven't read the Grisha Trilogy, thought. . . .
Happy #BookLoversDay everyone 😊 here's to all who has lived a thousand lives and traveled to many wonderful worlds through words and pages ❤ . . .
These days has been quite busy for me, I've got lots of things to do and this week is going to be even busier. I haven't had so many time to read and Goodreads reminds me all the time of the books I'm behind on my challenge. So far I've read 27 and my goal is 60, let's see if I can read them all. . . . I'm part of an initiative called «Adopta una autora» (Adopt an autor) centerded in female authors from different languages and nationalities. The objective is to promote the work of women in literature. The author I chose for this project is Caitlin R. Kiernan, who writes science fiction, horror and dark fantasy. The book from the picture is an anthology of horror short stories, and one from my author is in there. I haven't read it yet, but I'm planning on doing it this week.
Alaska, 1920: a brutal place to homestead and especially tough for recent arrivals Jack and Mabel. Childless, they are drifting apart--he breaking under the weight of the work of the farm, she crumbling from loneliness and despair. In a moment of levity during the season's first snowfall, they build a child out of snow. The next morning, the snow child is gone--but they glimpse a young, blonde-haired girl running through the trees. . . . Last week I bought this book. It was in my to read list at Goodreads and I'm really happy to have it already. I don't know when am I going to read it though. Have you read it? . . .
Beautiful covers ❤ Latetly I've seen so many different and beautiful covers, and even when the most important part of a book (at least, for me) is the story, a beautiful edition always makes everything better. What do you think? . . .
