Most of you probably don't know this but, since I had my first little, I've been struggling with my weight and health. Just 2-3 days after I had Fiona, I was rushed to the ER because I was having congestive heart failure. It took me a year to get back to normal and I ended up losing some weight in the process because of the diet I was restricted to. . Then between then and having my second I was depressed and had a ton of anxiety from work and I ended up being blessed with a new job at Nike. Being in a more health conscious job helped me but then I got pregnant again, and I gained 20 pounds (normal) but the weight didn't come off as much after having her. . Then earlier this year before my daughters 1st bday I had a gall bladder attack, was rushed to the ER and had to have it removed. Ever since diet and my weight has been awful. And I'm embarrassingly at the weight I was at delivery with my 2nd. . This last week I've made a lifestyle choice with my hubby and we have completely depleated our pantry of sugars and processed foods, and bad carbs. We are living the Keto lifestyle, and in 1 week I lost over 5pounds! . I haven't felt this energized, less bloated and just less hungry in a couple of years. I don't have afternoon crashes and I'm actually craving water! Never ever did I drink water. . Today I'm trying out this new Keto pink lemonade to help put more keytones in my body to continue to put me into ketosis where by body is using my own fat for energy. I'm so excited to see what will happen in 30 days. . Only 21 days to go!

The next book on my list. I have really enjoyed reading books on business. You can never be too experienced or ever stop learning new ideas. It helps to open your mind to other concepts and things that work for others as you build your business and as it grows. The process and systems always change. . Has anyone read this one? . . . . . . #femaleentreprenuer #savvybusinessowner #communityovercompetition #calledtobecreative #mycreativebiz #creativeentrepreneur #creativeatheart #designinspiration #femaleentrepreneurs #branddesign #girlboss #womeninbusiness #motivation #bossbabe #mompreneur #entrepreneur #women #ladyboss #inspiration #behindthechair #womenempowerment #connect #execute #girlpower #womensupportingwomen #nevergiveup #makeithappen #accomplishyourgoals #determination
This week I've been working hard on multiple things, including focusing on my weight and health. I've worried that I've not been present enough online and then again feel I'm still too present. Dividing my time through each day, week and month is a constant battle. Especially between what sounds more fun. . This week was my 2nd week with my business coach @erinshebish and doing the Creative at Heart Alumni Mastermind. And this week I am in my first online summit as a breakout session speaker as well as published in my favorite magazine @belongmag about the @togetherexperience that I hosted in February. . When I allow myself the time to sit back and reflect on what I've accomplished in 2017, and what I had hoped for myself at the end of 2016 to where I am today mid-2017. I feel proud of myself for pushing myself. I've also decided that I don't have to do all the things. So to better my own business and my favorite community of bossbabes that I've been building over the last year, I'm going to decide what's most important and plan days, weeks and months in my business with more intention and allowing myself the flexibility I need to be with my family, and take breaks when I want. . Gone are the days of comparing. Self guilt. Shame and torturing myself by thinking I should be further than I am or better than I am. . What have you seen in you this year since the end of summer last year? Comment below because I'm curious if when you look back you can see personal and/or business growth. What have you changed or plan to change? #femaleentreprenuer #savvybusinessowner #communityovercompetition #calledtobecreative #mycreativebiz #creativeentrepreneur #creativeatheart #designinspiration #femininedesign #femaleentrepreneurs #branddesign #girlboss #womeninbusiness #motivation #bossbabe #mompreneur #entrepreneur #women #ladyboss #inspiration #behindthechair #womenempowerment #connect #execute #girlpower #womensupportingwomen #nevergiveup #makeithappen #accomplishyourgoals #determination

This week was full. I met friends I'd only had conversations with online, friends I've met before and have beautiful and fun relationships with that I cherish. And with all that I heard and saw I left North Carolina in a sort of unique place. I didn't feel like I had a ton to catch up on, I didn't feel like I overly learned information, and I didn't feel that I was lost in what to do next. At first I felt like I was going to have this huge revelation or path to follow after coming back again. But I didn't. . Now...don't take this as a negative thing. Because it's not. For me...it took a couple days away from the event and home to realize...I've come THAT far in the last year since I went before. I've grown that much...and MOST importantly. I was validated that I am where I am meant to be. I'm happy. Moving forward and growing. I'm pushing myself and I am further than I had expected to be a year ago when I completely did a biz flip and left the wedding industry as a stationery and event favors + goods designer. It was a scary leap...but when I think about it and look back...I went to @creativeatheartconference last year alone...without knowing a single person. Which was terrifying. I left with friends who are still apart of my daily life...a new business venture, the drive to start another venture (aka @togetherexperience ) and when I came back for a second round, I met new people who already knew of me or heard of my businesses. I was able to connect with people on a different level. So...though I was worried and a little taken back that the world didn't change for me this time around...it made me see how much I've changed and that I am on the right path doing what I need to be doing.
I'm 20 pages into my new read for the month called Unfu*k Yourself by @garyjohnbishop and I'm already completely in love with this book. I feel like I will be done with it before I even get on my layover flight home to Portland. I'm getting excited to continue to read it, but I had to share this awesome quote that was on page 14. . It's not that you need to find the answer, YOU ARE the answer. . After this week at the conference I kept seeing everyone looking for the magic answers from speakers and mentors. This message was repeated in different words sprinkled throughout the event. But in my opinion Gary says it best. Quit trying to look for the magic formula that is going to make you successful. There IS NO magic formula. You need to look at yourself to find the answer, because YOU are a the answer.
We are hanging out at the @merrimonwynne and this place is so gorgeous. Glass chandeliers and beautiful bright white walls and ceilings! This has been a gorgeous classy and modern venue.
