I haven’t talked about my coloring books in awhile, and the light and shade by the window felt relaxed, so I made a time lapse of some pages from my EVERGREEN coloring book.... feels like the perfect book to color for spring!
Decided today was a good day to make my poster for Saturday! #enough #guncontrolnow
Shepherd’s Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris) As I’m drawing and reading about these “weeds” I continue to be astonished... I made bouquets from these as a little girl because I loved the tiny heart shaped leaves. Now, I’m learning that this plant has life saving properties, like stopping hemorrhages in the stomach, lungs, and uterus. It’s been used to treat earaches, diarrhea, hypertension.... the list goes on. So next time you see these pop up in your garden, don’t throw them away, save them! They’re not weeds!!
I’ve also decided to practice drawing faces.... my brain feels a little squirrelly lately! So many things and ideas floating around my brain!
I shared something from my son this morning... this from my daughter... so great😆
Another piece of my son’s brain, one of his own creations this time... 🙂
I just finished researching weeds.... because I love them, I’ve been fascinated since I was a kid, and because I’m getting ready for a new series of botanical work. This is a close up of Wild Oats (Avena fauta)
Very quick bouquet sketch before I make dinner!
Every morning, without fail, my son leaves some little part of his brain posed in the living room😆
This painting is about the inner strength, courage, confidence, and beauty I see and hope for in all women. Raising a daughter has opened my eyes to the importance of empowering and lifting up the women and girls in our lives. Break down ALL the stereotypes!!! #internationalwomensday #internationalwomensday2018
