I'm on spring break so here's a #tbt pic. Last week the kids worked through a series of tasks like identifying the theme of a passage and answering test prep questions. This led them to receiving an envelope with 4 multiplication equations written with invisible ink. They had to figure out the missing factors which made up the combination to break out the snack I had for them! They LOVED this so much that some of them wanted to work through recess. I'm going to do another one before our big state test. Tasks inspired by activities that @elementaryshenanigans and @elizabethraff did.
@betsydevosed Here's a picture of my kids practicing time in the Elapsed Time Race. This is just one of many times throughout the day the kids are up and around the room collaborating and learning. #morethanastockphoto
This kid. Sometimes she’s challenging. But she has the kindest heart. And yes she calls me mommy when she says hello and goodbye every day. 😭😍 #iloveteaching
Can’t believe this was even considered. #Repost @missdecarbo with @get_repost ・・・ I don’t get a bonus for helping your child learn how to read. I got this idea for idioms from Pinterest. I typed up common idioms and had each kid draw one from a bag. They had to draw a picture of the idiom and write down the actual meaning under the flap. Then I hung them up around the room for our Idiom Museum. The kids had to go around and figure out the meanings and write them down. They could then lift up the flap to see if they were right. Scroll to see three of my faves!
Valentine's Day is a big deal in 3rd! Prepping a day of learning including this Candy Bandit activity to practice area and perimeter. Valentine's Day can be academic and fun!
It's all worth it when you get a message like this. 😭
Loved the movie so of course had to get this new picture book! Can’t wait to add it to my library.
Recently had a @donorschoose project funded and got these books. Gave them to a couple of striving readers to try out and they approve!
