One week of summer and I'm on books #4 and #5! Has anyone read Engaging Children? It didn't have many reviews but I'm familiar with the author so decided to try it. I'd love suggestions for more books if you have them! (Both PD and just for fun books.)
We reviewed animal adaptations and classification today with some Jurassic Park fun! We made these fossils using modeling clay that I had in my school supplied science kit. To make the imprints I got the skeleton dinosaurs from Amazon. Hopefully they will dry up over night!
We’re wrapping up “Shark Week” which has ended up being weeks because of scheduling. One of the tasks for reading was taking a tour of the Shark Aquarium. The kids answered questions on a sheet as they toured. Super simple to set up. These are fact sheets and photographs that I took from a book I got from Scholastic.
Still thinking about the amazing experience I had Friday @ronclarkacademy. I learned so much from @mrronclark and @kimbearden. Hands down the best PD I've ever had. We plan to go back for the two day training and bring more people!
We finished our poetry books and this sweet kid wrote a poem about me. 💕(He labeled the picture so I can tell which one is me. LOL) And I love how the kid in the next slide included his fake website address so we can learn more about his books.😂 (I had to cover up part of it because it's private info. We'll have to talk about choosing a safer web address. 😜)
My kids are obsessed with these @natgeo books and thanks to @scholasticbookclubs bonus points, I added more to our collection. Anyone else's kids love these?
Working in a Title 1 school, I found that this article clearly explains how our kids don't get a fair chance to pass the state tests. Do you agree? The link to the article is in my profile.
STEM bins untouched because my class was having issues today. #reallifeintheclassroom
