🚯TAKE 3️⃣ FOR THE 🌊... it’s still unbelievable that we could find 2 whole garbage bags of rubbish just in the gardens around our kindy and car park!! The owls put on their gloves and got to work! Every little bit counts 🌏 . . #plasticpollution #take3contributers

The owls played some tic tac toe with their grand friends today.. but instead of the usual naughts and crosses.. we embedded some Indigenous learning by using our Aboriginal symbols cards.. It was great to see the children trying to explain what they thought the symbols meant to the residents!
Today the owls were inspired by Indigenous Australian artist @naomi_hobson_artist We looked at some of her amazing paintings and then talked about cool vs warm colours.. 💚💙💜❤️🧡💛We loved using hair dryers to dry between layers and then some fierce black and white for our patterned top layer! These beautiful pieces now decorate the office!
Ceremonies play a very important part in Australian Indigenous people’s culture. Ceremonies and rituals are still performed across Australia.. One ceremony we talked about with the owls today was Corroboree - where friends and families interact through music, costume and dance. It is sacred and varies from region to region and can include body paint, ornamental coverings and colourful cloth clothing. We looked at some pictures of Indigenous Australians all dressed up and then had a go at painting our own representation of these images. ❤️💛🖤
At Little Diggers we acknowledge and remember the families that were affected in the stolen generation on #sorryday .. We are lucky that we have the opportunity to educate the children in our care and help them to understand how important Aboriginal history and culture is in Australia.. We look forward to celebrating this amazing culture during reconciliation week. ❤️💛🖤 #sorryday2019 #reconcilitionweek #aboriginalhistory #indigenoushistory #timeforchange #education #earlyeducation #sharedunderstanding
P is for pancake! 🥞Today the owls made their own pancakes to link with our learning about the letter ‘p’.
Thanks to our fabulous friends Donna & Angela from @backontrackconsultancy for presenting a great workshop to our families.. Set for success - school readiness! It was a great turnout!
