10 years ago we didn't have things perfect...and we still don't today; here's to a beautifully imperfect life that I am grateful for. A lot sure changes in a decade's time. Looking forward to what the next 10 brings. #happynewyear #2020 #10yearchallenge
Like father like son. Just about a month ago our oldest asked to learn some notes on his dad's sax. About a week later he could play about 10 simple songs after just practicing on his own accord each day. Today he asked for some further help and they set up their practice studio in our bedroom. Can't say they're making beautiful music together yet, but someday with his perseverance he'll be as good as his dad I bet. #cooltoseekidsgrowup #likefatherlikeson #musicianinthemaking
We were so grateful to be able to make it to the #givingmachinesdenver . Even though they're in Denver until New Year's, we hoped to make it before Christmas. We finally had some time and even though we got a flat tire, we still made it. Glad that Denver decided to provide this opportunity to #lighttheworld . For a unique opportunity to have your family donate to others worldwide, you should see if there's one near you.
Yesterday Hunter was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was born brave and friendly, and he still is to this day, inviting anyone and everyone to come to his baptism. Even though very few people were able to make it, I'm proud of him being such an example of inviting. He has such a big heart and loves people and his Savior so much. (Unfortunately my camera was having issues and we all look like blurry oompa loompas 😋)
Not much snow left, but this snow hill provided hours of entertainment. We love that the boys' best friends are our neighbors and that they can join us on our adventures.
I'm all about real, but even on Instagram I get caught up in sharing only the good stuff of life. This pic captures the good stuff of life but in a more real way if I share a little back story. A week ago Nathan and I went to see the Piano Guys at Red Rocks and took this pic. I'd bought the tix a month before his bday in May, not knowing that his anxiety would be worse than it ever has been before, that he'd be plagued by panic attacks, and crippled by depression and insomnia, and that we'd eventually determine that he was suffering from c-PTSD. Yet that is what we have been facing the last several months and it has been a rollercoaster ride. However, Nathan and I have been open about this reality with others because mental health is real, and it affects so many people we know and love. It is hard, frustrating, and confusing, but it has brought us even closer together as a couple/team, and with a lot of effort and humility, we have been blessed to see God's hand in our lives thru earthly angels, as well as feel His love as He gives us patience, encouragement and occasional peace. We are so grateful to have Him as our teammate thru life's ups and downs. Going to the concert seemed impossible to Nathan, but I encouraged him to go and he did it. He didn't like that he didn't feel well enough to drive. He had a hard time hiking to the Ampitheater. And he had a hard time with all of the sensations around him. Yet he did it and I'm so proud of him. We might have only lasted an hour, but that is something. Life is rough sometimes, but even during the darkest times, little bits of light shine thru to keep us going. #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #love #godlivesandloves #eternalteammates #daybydaymomentbymoment #bysmallmeansaregreatthingsbroughttopass
Happy first day of no kids at home for me today! Although I know I'll miss them while they're gone all day, im looking forward to what this new chapter of life will be like for me. I'm so glad that all 4 are so excited for school, and can't believe my baby will be in kindergarten all day! He's so ready, he's like a little man at times 😁. (From left to right: 6th grade, kindergarten, 2nd grade, 8th grade). #freedom #notreallybutkinda
I know I posted the pic on the right a few days ago, but I just found the one on the left and couldn't believe the difference 5 years makes. I bet my mind will be blown with how much they'll change in another 5. #growingup
First day of 6th and 8th grade for these studs. Good thing they enjoy each other because they have the same homeroom and study hall this year, so they'll be getting a lot of time together. #middleschool #americanacademy
First trip to the ER in the wee hours of the night thanks to swallowing two magnet balls. No symptoms but Google and the advice nurse sent us in. Fortunately the magnet balls stuck together rather than separated so we were sent back home after x-rays. Phew. 😴 #gladimadeitthisfarwithfourboysbeforeervisit
Such a blessing to be in CDA, ID and be making memories with family. #familiesareforever #summerfun #familyreunion
After years of wanting to try it, Nathan got got to try downhill mountain biking in Steamboat Springs. I'm so glad he had a great time and survived. #ilovecolorado #trynewthings #steamboatsprings #livelife
Thanks @tacobell for the free Doritos Locos tacos because of #stealagamestealataco !
These boys sure do look like their dad. Happy Father's Day, Nathan, we sure do love you & all that you do for us. #onelooksmorelikemetho
