Had a blast in Texas Hill Country. 🌳🌵☀️🦌 My boyfriend and I visited his mama in Boerne, TX! 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏻♂️ He showed me around his hometown, 🏡 hiked Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg, ⛰attended the annual Berges Fest (German festival) 🎡🇩🇪 and met (almost) the entire 2005 football team @bradneu played with. 🏈 “Football is Liiife” - spoken with a Texas accent. 🤠 I ❤️ Texas!
Celebrity sighting in San Antonio! 😆 I was SO PUMPED to meet @nerdscanfight. 🙌🏻🙋🏼♀️ She truly emits a positive aura that you can sense even through social media. 🌟💗🦄 Can’t wait to cheer her on as she trains for the NYC Marathon @beyondtype1 team! 🏃🏻♀️👏🏻 . So grateful for how supportive and kind the #t1dcommunity is since my diagnosis! 💙I’m making friends all over the country (and world)! 🌎Hope to keep changing Instagram friends into real-life friends! 🦋👋🏻
A month ago, I left the Endocrinologist in tears from not so good news. 😿 I was completely blind sided by my blood work results. 📊🌡 My heart sank when my Endo reminded me Once you have 1 auto-immune disease you are more susceptible to developing more. This, I already knew, but never wanted to hear. 🙉 My thyroid levels were elevated which meant either 1️⃣ Hypothyroidism 2️⃣ Hashimoto's Disease. I left feeling completely overwhelmed. 😞 My emotions went back to the days laying in the ICU newly diagnosed with T1D. 😨🏨 I felt so alone. I was terrified of having yet another complication to deal with. 😫👎🏻Thinking, Why is my body suddenly falling apart?! 🤷🏼♀️ I quickly discovered how incredibly common hypothyroidism is. A close friend told me she developed it after she was diagnosed with T1D. 💙 Even my MOM has it! 😲👩👧For the past 15 years and I never even knew! So, I calmed down and accepted that whatever happened, I could handle. 👊🏻💪🏻 I went back to the doctor today, feeling anxious for my results. 👩🏻⚕️ Sadly, I tested positive for the Hashimotos antibodies (Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody), yet my TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) level went back into the normal range. 🤦🏼♀️ Again, I left confused, but way more hopeful because this condition is much easier to manage than T1D. 🙌🏻☺️ If only Type 1 could be managed with 1 pill a day! 💊 I won’t be starting thyroid treatment yet, but will be tested regularly to be safe! I kept this private for the last month, but felt the need to share in case anyone else is dealing with something similar. 💗 YOU ARE NOT ALONE! 💕

One year and 4 months ago I was educated on what a pump and CGM were. 🤷🏼♀️📟 I had ZERO interest in wearing anything attached to body. 🙅🏼♀️🚫😫 Now, here I am blogging about my first month wearing the @dexcom G6. 😲 Unreal. 🙌🏻 I'll admit...the first week was NOT easy. 😕This is a whole new world to me, and I honestly had no idea what I was doing. 🙈 I ruined my 1st sensor after 2 days and felt pretty stupid and defeated. 🤦🏼♀️👎🏻 But, I pushed the glorious orange button for sensor #2 and tried again. 🤗👊🏻With the help of MANY friends, the T1D community, and the incredibly patient and kind #dexcom Reps I am slowly getting the hang of this thing. 📳💚🤞🏻Check out my blog post to see unboxing photos 📦, how I ruined my 1st sensor 🙊, a G5 vs G6 size comparison ⚖️, and what things I learned THE HARD WAY. 📚💡✨Link in bio! 📲
I was SO excited to have a #tiugirl friend to attend the Studio Tone It Up Live event with name! 🙌🏻💕💪🏻 No better person to kickbox, laugh, and sweat with than @thecomedyofjule ! 😅❤️💦 We got our booty kicked by my fav trainers @karenadawn & @katrinaascott ☀️🌴🌈 PLUS the #studiotoneitup trainers @studiotoneitupchyna @studiotoneituptori @studiotoneitupstefanie ! 💗🌟 My @dexcom definitely came in handy and I was able to keep my blood sugar steady throughout the workouts! 👌🏻📉 Another #TIU girl living with #type1diabetes noticed my #Dexcom and introduced herself to me, too!! 👋🏻💁🏼♀️ Made my day! 🦄✨
Turning Instagram acquaintances into real life friends! 🙌🏻💙 I admit, I was so freaking excited for this day 🤗 and to finally meet these amazing women in person! 👯♀️ Making friends living with T1D helped me accept my diagnosis faster than I ever thought possible. 💉☮️ I truly look up to so many of you - no matter where you live, your age, your gender, or if we’ve ever even met!! 🙏🏻💕🦄 Just know sharing your daily life managing T1D is an inspiration to me!✨🌴🌈 📸: @paul.otte
Heading into the holiday weekend like... ✌🏻🌴☀️🌊 Happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸🙌🏻 . ✨FUN FACT: Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day and became a federal holiday in 1971. ❤️📆 General Logan chose the last Sunday in May because most flowers were in bloom by this time making it easier for loved ones to decorate soldiers’ graves with fresh flowers. 💐🌻🌷 . Stay safe if you are traveling this weekend! 💕🚖✈️ Brad and I are still deciding where to adventure on Monday. 👫🛣🏞 What are your plans!? 😁
