I’m putting this in my home and in a frame. Being a black mother comes with its own strength, worry, and understanding that you’re raising a child or children in a world with a corrupt society and justice system. Loving my black son and future black children beyond the pain that the oppressor and white supremacy has inflected on my our race for years is another type of strength that I pull from my ancestors. 🖤 Tag the artist if you know created this beautiful and powerful piece.

Many of us should be establishing ways & creating boundaries to protect or mental health. Being black is beautiful, exhilarating, and exhausting. However, when you grow beyond your color of your skin to not see life in black in white you can visualize better. In a society that was never meant to work in the favor of the black man or woman; we must stand united. We must feed our minds and never stop learning. Education is power. Spirituality is power. Opening up your mouth even if your voice shakes to speak your truth has power. I refuse to allow any ignorance of others to ever cloud my prospective on the black community. We are golden with tear stain faces. We are weary but are pushing through for the sake of our well-being. We are tired, but aren’t surrendering under the burden of the oppressors. 💙𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡.𝐜𝐨𝐦💙
I use to not like my hair in a twistout many time since than just a few. I loved my twists, but unraveling my twists made me a lot anxious. (𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩 𝘯 𝘨𝘰𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩.) 😅 It took me time to appreciate my hair in every state. I’ve been natural for almost 9 years come this July. I’m comfortable within my natural hair journey. I know what my hair likes. I also have a low maintenance routine that I stick too that has been paying off. When I learned to appreciate my hair in different forms I grew to love and embrace the versatility of my natural hair. 💙 For more of my natural hair tap the link in my bio to check out my YouTube channel.
We did the #fruitsnackchallenge and y’all can now see how bad my son wanted his fruit snacks. 😂 Well, at least he enjoyed them. He’s a sneaky lil guy.

Learn to let folks be while you continue to focus on your path. There’s people that love, support, and understand you; through the midst of you checking for some folks to give a damn about what you have going on. 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩, 𝘵𝘢𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘪𝘰. 💐𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡.𝐜𝐨𝐦💐
This Mother’s Day was peaceful for me both spiritually and emotionally. I’m a mother who is thankful for still being able to have her mother. I am walking in my purpose and I’m grateful that God blessed me to see another day. I would not trade being a mother for anything in this world. I hope you’re are at peace this Mother’s Day too. 💐 💙𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡.𝐜𝐨𝐦💙
