Babies galore to kick off the New Year! We’ve got a pop in maternity session on Monday before their studio newborn session later this month, then two more studio newborn sessions next week!Looking forward to meeting all of my new little loves this season💗
Embracing the studio for more maternity sessions this year. There’s something timeless about quiet moments in anticipation. Studio sessions include use of the studio wardrobe, and have the benefit of a controlled environment. In Florida, not having to worry about the rain is a big plus!
This is awesomeeee!!! Let's go fast like last time. :05-:09 of this Magic Session family film pretty much sums it up. Best part of film...bottling up that little moment when your client’s youngest was in a bit of mood prior to getting on the Tea Cups, and moments later saying something like that 💗 I’ll be out at the park tomorrow filming Magic Session #2 for the Coleman family! Check out my stories for the highlights! ✨
One of my resolutions this year, well every year honestly, is to blog allll of my work, all of it. Each and every session, as they’re finished- just build it into my workflow like any other part of the process. I know you creatives know that this is so much easier to say than it is to actually keep up with. It’s ironic isn’t it? You become an entrepreneur to do more of what you love, but as you take on more work the parts of the biz that allured you to your craft in the first place end up comprising such a small part of your day-to-day. 👩🏼💻 So...with 2019, and in the spirit of setting goals (I let go of the term “resolution” long ago), I’ve carved out a part of Q1 to achieve the goal of sharing each and every beautiful moment that I have the extraordinary honor of documenting for my clients. This image, taken last year in south Florida, was one of my favorites from a session I never even got around to sharing! As an artist, one of the best parts about blogging and sharing your work is sharing your point of view and your favorite aspects of the finished product. It’s so much more than snapping the shutter. Your clients and the people who support your business should see that! ✨ After nearly 9 years working as a full-time professional in this industry, I still absolutely love the art of storytelling. 📷 More to come from this beautiful Florida coastal maternity session, and from all of my client sessions, this year and last. To the New Year, and to celebrating the quiet moments and everything in-between. 🌅 (As the artist who composed this image- I love that this represents the anticipation of a new baby and it gives me the feel of a sense of hope and a sense of rebirth, which is very applicable to a maternity image. It was taken during sunset, giving the image a soft light, helping to compliment the femininity of her sheer floral dress coupled with her pashmina draped loosely over her arms. Those two things, coupled with the tones in the image help to balance out the sharp edges of the driftwood. Finally, the way the subject is positioned, looking outward on to the horizon, depicts a feeling of peace, the beginning of a new chapter.)
We’ve had a stroke of warm weather luck out here at the beach. Looking forward to I’m hoping a mild winter in 2019 and documenting many little loves out on the coast! Now booking spring/summer sessions and family films.
Wrapped up the very last of this year’s client galleries today! What a year of Magic Sessions. I’m opening up a few more spots for 2019 because I’m almost fully committed already for next year! We’ve got families from four other countries coming out to the parks! I know the thought of gathering your crew together, getting dressed and walking the parks with a somewhat stranger sounds daunting, but it’s SO worth the effort! I equate these sessions to that of an intimate wedding. They’re a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share a legacy with your children and bottle up that little magical part of their childhood ✨ Check out my stories for more sneak peeks from this December Magic Session ✨
