I hope whoever ends up owning the houses in the new section of the neighborhood loves it there as much as we’ve enjoyed frolicking on the land where they’ll be built, their empty streets, and among the construction equipment🚜🌼🛵. We’ve made some of our best quarantine memories back there.
Judah and I are the same person. It’s hilarious and terrifying. HILARIFFYING. Jesse thinks it’s funny when we get in a fight because I finally see what it’s like to fight with myself. NOT FUN. AVOID. . Judah watches a minimum of 8 “Simpsons” Episodes a day. He’s in a big group text with a bunch of his friends, and loves listening to music while playing with his passback ball outside (best toy ever). He goes jetting off on solo motorcycle voyages several times a day. . He’s the most helpful and hardest working kid. He LOVES tidying the main living/kitchen area and that’s such a gift for us. He’s majorly bummed to have missed the track meet after making the team he’d hoped for for so long, and didn’t expect to close out his elementary school career this way, and is majorly concerned about his haircuts going on hiatus (boyfriend loves his locks). . Favorite (not bc happy but bc ❤️)quarantine Judah moment: seeing his tender heart BREAK when we had to put out 14 year old Chopper doggy down. . I am...dealing. Weirdly enjoying not having dozens of *things* a week to go to, but also obsessing over scary stats and facts and going simultaneously nuts and content being with my family all day. Emotional energy and motivation surge and disappear hourly, and I’m trying to just let myself be overwhelmed, tired, excited, stressed, content, manic and optimistic as they come. 🎢 . . Favorite me moment: getting in a garbage bag to April fools prank the hell out of Judah.
Jesse and Yoda are appropriately paired in this tile, as they are thriving more than anyone. . Jesse is doing lots of counseling sessions, meetings, church events (date night games, family game night, Sunday services), through Zoom. He was one of the few who responded to my poll of feeling “full strength” in this time and attributed that to getting more sleep than ever before. . He’s been working out in the garage with me and/or Judah with borrowed equipment from our beloved closed @crossfitgoodlife, cooking the majority of our dinners, and grieving the loss of Atlanta United games. . It’s very weird to have him around all the time. My workload around the house, if anything, has decreased, yet the mere fact that’s he’s HERE and *could* do any of the tasks I normally take on alone without blinking has added a weird tension that I’m trying to avoid letting become latent resentment. . Fave Jesse quarantine moment: We binged “Love is Blind” together over a 3 day period and concluded that despite our failings, we have stable and emotionally healthy relationship (DONT GIVE YOUR DOGS RED WINE). Yoda is predictably loving all the constant snuggles and all the time we have to take him on freedom rides. He’s a bitter Beta diva about Clifford being inside. Favorite Yoda Quarantine moment: taking him back to a swampy creek/muddy construction area and him going BUCK WILD in the mud and water.
