As a pretty religious user of the @banilacousa Clean It Zero cleansing balm, I was so excited to hear that they had expanded their offering with a skincare line! 🎉 I got these products at the beginning of May and have been testing them for around a month. . .💕 My favorite item so far is the Dear Hydration Boosting Cream (around $20 | gifted). It has a gel cream texture, which provides light and layerable hydration. This melts into my skin as well as my favorite #laneige Water Bank products. The Boosting Cream contains brightening ingredients such as niacinamide and acetyl glucosamine. Caveat that this has a light fragrance. . . 💕 My second favorite is the Dear Hydration Sleeping Mask ($21 | gifted). This has a water gel texture and an herbal “Urban Water Guard System” that reminds me to #belif products. This is not an occlusive sleeping mask, so I find it perfect for the summer. . .💕 I still need some more time with the toner and balancing moisturizer to say anything deep, but these have been serving me well as part of a layered routine. The Dear Hydration line is affordable #kbeauty that is great for maintaining skin goals you’ve already achieved, as long as you’re not yearning for drastic results.
#paulandjoebeautegiftedme their Gel Blush ($27 on Amazon) in the shades 01 Red Balloon and 05 Sommeliere 🍷 swipe for swatches! . . 💧 Key Ingredients: These blushes are 80% water, which explains their light, hydrating feel. These are scented with perfume and essential oils for a slightly floral fragrance. . . ❤️ Experience: I have never used a makeup product that feels as unique. It’s like painting watercolors on my face. Or melting a popsicle and using it as blush (without the stickiness). The colors are vibrant at first, but they blend away into the slightest flush, so if you’re looking for a brightly colored, subtle blush, this is a good one. . . 🎈 VERDICT: While I wish these weren’t fragranced, I like the amount of control I have over color placement and intensity. Both colors work well on my medium tan skin, but I have a slight preference for Red Balloon as it brightens my complexion. . . 💄 Do you prefer powder, cream, or gel blush? . . @paulandjoe_beaute #paulandjoe #paulandjoeglow #octolyfamily
#amikagiftedme this Might Mini Hairdryer ($50) like 6 months ago, and I just wanted to check in with you again and tell you how much I still love this ❤️ It’s small, packable, and works with international voltage (just flip a switch!). Even though it’s mini, it dries hair as quickly as a full-sized hairdryer - I use this as my actual day to day hairdryer, not just for travel. . . ✂️ I also loved the artsy look of @amika design, so I upcycled some of the boxes I’ve been hoarding into a collage poster. Let me know what you think! This is only a small corner of it.
Bare Republic gifted me three mineral sunscreens - just in time for my beach weekend 🏖 Hawaii recently banned sunscreens containing octinoxate and oxybenzone, two chemical filters which contribute to coral bleaching. Bare Republic, a sub brand of Coola, creates these reef-safe sunscreens that I also saw being sold along Waikiki Beach: . . ☀️ Face Lotion SPF 30 ($12) - Matte, unscented, and powdery. I’m talking Mr. Mime-level white cast. This was pretty water-resistant though, so I didn’t even tan. . . ☀️ Coco Mango Mineral Spray SPF 30 ($15) - This sprays a white lotion with a nice, light tropical scent. I used this from the neck down over multiple beach days and did not burn. But the white cast even stays after showering - you need to loofah this away! . . ☀️ Holographic Shimmer Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 ($15) - I only used this on my collarbones, and it had a nice purple-toned shimmer. . . ☀️ VERDICT: I spent hours on the beach in direct sunlight without sunburn or even a slight tan (with constant reapplication of course). You will look like you’re covered in white paint, but at least you’re doing your skin and the ocean a favor? . . #gobareoutside #contest #complimentary @barerepublic @influenster
One product that I had to have #skincarriedwithme in Hawaii is the @paulaschoice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer ($35 | gifted). It has guava and passion fruit in it...how perfect is that for an island getaway? . . ☁️ The Omega+ Complex Moisturizer has been my favorite daily moisturizer for the past 2 months. It’s a cloud-like cream that is light and nourishing. It dries pretty matte, so I can layer it under primer and makeup with no issue. It contains ceramides, non-fragrant antioxidant plant oils, and omega fatty acids. . . ☁️ I love #paulaschoice products because they feel elegantly simple, their ingredients are intentional, and they work. You can read the functions of each ingredient backed by research that they publish on their site, which I love. . . ☁️ Do you have a favorite product from Paula’s Choice?
#freshbeautygiftedme their Lemon and Peach Hydrating Lip Balms ($18). They’re so beautiful that I had to capture them in this untouched state (rest assured, these have my fingerprints all over them now)! . . 🍋 Key Ingredients: Sugar (humectant), apricot kernel oil (nourishing), grape seed oil (moisturizer), vitamin E (antioxidant). These do contain fragrance. . .🍑Experience: These smell AMAZING. Seriously, it’s like I’m putting lemon or peach candy on my lips. These aren’t thick, yet feel moisturizing. You can wear them during the day because they’re not too sticky or shiny. In fact, I wish I could wear them more frequently during the day, but the tub packaging prevents me from doing so because I only want to use clean hands. Please make these in a tube or bullet, then they’d be 💯 . .🍋 VERDICT: Smells great and moisturizes my lips without feeling sticky. If you love lemons or peaches, I recommend going to a #freshbeauty or #sephora now, because these are limited edition flavors only available for 6 months. My only gripe is that I can’t wear this as often as I want to because I have to use my fingers, which is inconvenient. . .#sugarlips 💋 @freshbeauty
Here are my first impressions on @rookibeauty, a new brand made in Japan whose ingredients are based on superfoods 🍃 . .❤️ Green Pulp Paste Masque ($46 | gifted) - I LOVE THIS. This is what the #farmacybeauty Bright On Mask was meant to be - a hydrating gel mask that activates into a warming paste when massaged, but free of fragrance/essential oils. The superfoods here are rich in vitamins A,K, and C and linoleic acid. My face felt sooo soft and plump afterwards, that I’ve used it 3 times this week... . .❤️ Superfood Savior Cream ($57 | gifted) - This is a super emollient cream with squalane, hyaluronic acid, and nourishing coenzyme q10. This is so thick and hydrating that I treat this like a mask. . .❤️ Honey Matcha Cleansing Drops ($43 | gifted) - This was the product I was most excited for, but I ended up having mixed feelings. I loved the look of the ingredients - lactic acid, vitamin C, peptides, matcha, honey - but this stung when I rubbed it near my eyes. My face also felt a bit tight afterward, so it might be too harsh for me. . .❤️ Overall, I was impressed by the launch - especially the mask - and will definitely be tracking this brand in the future. (They do free shipping worldwide!) What’s a new brand you’ve discovered recently?
My #pinkwednesday bag with some favorites that #lancomegiftedme a few months ago ✨I posted an initial review of the 15% Vitamin C Correcting Concentrate ($65 | gifted) and it still stands - I love it! I’ve been using it in the AM underneath my sunscreen pretty much daily. It gives me such a nice glow and has steadily evened out some of my sun spots, though it’s taken ~2 months to get there. . .✨I’m lending the Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate ($105 | gifted) to my mom to try, since she loves @lancomeofficial. My initial review of this was that it felt plumping but was a bit too fragranced; let’s see what my mom says! . .✨Do you have any favorites from #lancome?
