One product that I had to have #skincarriedwithme in Hawaii is the @paulaschoice Omega+ Complex Moisturizer ($35 | gifted). It has guava and passion fruit in it...how perfect is that for an island getaway? . . ☁️ The Omega+ Complex Moisturizer has been my favorite daily moisturizer for the past 2 months. It’s a cloud-like cream that is light and nourishing. It dries pretty matte, so I can layer it under primer and makeup with no issue. It contains ceramides, non-fragrant antioxidant plant oils, and omega fatty acids. . . ☁️ I love #paulaschoice products because they feel elegantly simple, their ingredients are intentional, and they work. You can read the functions of each ingredient backed by research that they publish on their site, which I love. . . ☁️ Do you have a favorite product from Paula’s Choice?
#freshbeautygiftedme their Lemon and Peach Hydrating Lip Balms ($18). They’re so beautiful that I had to capture them in this untouched state (rest assured, these have my fingerprints all over them now)! . . 🍋 Key Ingredients: Sugar (humectant), apricot kernel oil (nourishing), grape seed oil (moisturizer), vitamin E (antioxidant). These do contain fragrance. . .🍑Experience: These smell AMAZING. Seriously, it’s like I’m putting lemon or peach candy on my lips. These aren’t thick, yet feel moisturizing. You can wear them during the day because they’re not too sticky or shiny. In fact, I wish I could wear them more frequently during the day, but the tub packaging prevents me from doing so because I only want to use clean hands. Please make these in a tube or bullet, then they’d be 💯 . .🍋 VERDICT: Smells great and moisturizes my lips without feeling sticky. If you love lemons or peaches, I recommend going to a #freshbeauty or #sephora now, because these are limited edition flavors only available for 6 months. My only gripe is that I can’t wear this as often as I want to because I have to use my fingers, which is inconvenient. . .#sugarlips 💋 @freshbeauty
Here are my first impressions on @rookibeauty, a new brand made in Japan whose ingredients are based on superfoods 🍃 . .❤️ Green Pulp Paste Masque ($46 | gifted) - I LOVE THIS. This is what the #farmacybeauty Bright On Mask was meant to be - a hydrating gel mask that activates into a warming paste when massaged, but free of fragrance/essential oils. The superfoods here are rich in vitamins A,K, and C and linoleic acid. My face felt sooo soft and plump afterwards, that I’ve used it 3 times this week... . .❤️ Superfood Savior Cream ($57 | gifted) - This is a super emollient cream with squalane, hyaluronic acid, and nourishing coenzyme q10. This is so thick and hydrating that I treat this like a mask. . .❤️ Honey Matcha Cleansing Drops ($43 | gifted) - This was the product I was most excited for, but I ended up having mixed feelings. I loved the look of the ingredients - lactic acid, vitamin C, peptides, matcha, honey - but this stung when I rubbed it near my eyes. My face also felt a bit tight afterward, so it might be too harsh for me. . .❤️ Overall, I was impressed by the launch - especially the mask - and will definitely be tracking this brand in the future. (They do free shipping worldwide!) What’s a new brand you’ve discovered recently?
My #pinkwednesday bag with some favorites that #lancomegiftedme a few months ago ✨I posted an initial review of the 15% Vitamin C Correcting Concentrate ($65 | gifted) and it still stands - I love it! I’ve been using it in the AM underneath my sunscreen pretty much daily. It gives me such a nice glow and has steadily evened out some of my sun spots, though it’s taken ~2 months to get there. . .✨I’m lending the Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate ($105 | gifted) to my mom to try, since she loves @lancomeofficial. My initial review of this was that it felt plumping but was a bit too fragranced; let’s see what my mom says! . .✨Do you have any favorites from #lancome?
Hoping to add some color to your Tuesday 🌈 . .✨Some morning favorites of mine in this photo include the @patchology Illuminating Eye Gels ($15 | gifted) for a matcha undereye perk-up and the @drunkelephant Protini Polypeptide Cream for a light, dewy moisturizer. . .✨Nighttime picks here include the @peterthomasrothofficial Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads ($52 | gifted) for adding an exfoliated glow to the skin and evening out texture. Of course, the classic @laneige_us Lip Sleeping Mask ($20) makes an appearance whenever the words “colorful” or “favorite” are used. . .❤️ Spot any favorites here?
@anthonyskincare gifted me their Glycolic Facial Cleanser ($28) about 2 months ago, and I’ve been using it on and off in the shower 🚿 For a manly-skincare-marketed brand, this deliciously creamy cleanser actually smells like pink lemonade 🍋 . .✨Key Ingredients: 4.9% glycolic acid (exfoliates skin cells and promotes turnover), aloe (Soothing), ascorbic acid (brightening), vitamins A and E (antioxidants). I try not to use a glycolic acid cleanser every day because I don’t want to overexfoliate. I don’t see any mention of fragrance in the ingredients list, so I think that the scent must come from the different fruits included. . .✨Experience: This is a cream cleanser that lathers. It’s definitely a second step cleanser - won’t remove makeup. It leaves my skin more radiant and smooth afterward, which is why I include this in my routine. The only annoying thing is that the package is hard to get product out of - I have to use both hands and shake it out like a ketchup bottle. 🙃 . .✨VERDICT: This is a good second step cleanser if you’re looking for some glow. The packaging can be frustrating, but the price is good. If I compare this to my other favorite glycolic cleanser from #katesomerville, that’s $38 for 4oz, while this is only $28 for 8oz!
#amorepacificgiftedme their new Treatment Enzyme Peeling Masque ($70). It claims to brighten and even out dark spots with its combination of glycolic acid, papaya enzymes, and green tea 🍵 . .✨Key Ingredients: Glycolic acid exfoliates skin cells, increasing turnover to reveal smoother skin underneath. Papain, or papaya enzymes, play a similar role to AHAs but penetrate less deeply. Green tea (the first ingredient), helps hydrate and soothe. I was also interested because this has a probiotic lactobacillus listed as the final ingredient. . .✨Experience: This is a light gel with specks of physical exfoliant (swipe for swatch). I really like the feel of this, as it is lightweight to put on for 10-15 minutes in the evening. The only thing that prevents this from being perfect is the strong fragrance. It shares the same perfumed scent as many #amorepacific products. . .✨VERDICT: My skin felt baby smooth and looked radiant afterward, so yes, I think this delivers on its claim. The only thing I would recommend before buying is to check if you are comfortable with such a strong fragrance.
My favorite recently-discovered texture is this @tonymoly.us_official Egg Pore Silk Smooth Balm ($20 | gifted) 🍳 Formulated with egg whites, this primer feels like the love child of the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer and First Aid Beauty Barri-AIR Moisturizer. It’s silky, smoothing, and has a slightly whipped fluff to it ☁️ . . 🍋 This creates such a good canvas for makeup, and I think it balances out my emollient sunscreen. I couldn’t find my usual Biore UV Perfect Milk and have been using the dewier Bright Milk version, which used to require setting powder to counteract. This primer takes care of that. And it smells like lemons! . . 🥚 What’s your favorite primer? . .*gifted by the online shop @beauty.refinery. Use code NEWFRIEND20 for a 20% discount (no commission)
