Our mandatory hurrication has begun. Our normally bustling little island feels like a ghost town and our little house we just moved into looks deserted as we moved everything to the second story. We went to downtown Charleston this morning to put our other car up high and seeing everything boarded up and people out preparing gave me chills. Please pray for everyone in Flo's path! #hurricaneflorence #charleston
Today Allie is 7!!! I can't believe the little person she has becoming. She has a heart of gold, she's always looking to serve others, and takes her role as big sister to the extreme. 😜 She lives for an adventure, asks 14 million questions a day and would live in the water (if Mom wasn't so terrified.) This year has been one for the books. She's traversed all over France and moved to South Carolina, where she's living her best life as a mermaid. We are spending the day at the beach because according to her, the mermaids are waiting on her! 🧜Happy birthday to my most favorite girl there ever was!
This morning as we were setting up a little stand to raise money for charity, a runner went by and fell, skinning her face and hands and had blood running down her face. While I was in the house, my daughter was out by the road and immediately ran to her giving her aid. She runs through the house yelling there's blood, I need paper towels and I follow too. A few hours later she comes back by and bring her these beautiful flowers, thanking Allie for all her help and told me how quick she was to react. As a mom, I love the thought my daughter is not only compassionate but a person who acts. This day in age it's easy to rely on others to rise up to action but I can't even describe how proud it makes me that she was the one who took that call to action.
We started our 9th anniversary on top of the Eiffel Tower at midnight. I can't wait to see what he pulls off next year...or if I can do one better... Let the games commence #loveiswar #anniversary #paris
Totally lied... Losing both front teeth has been the highlight! But some of the other highlights, we visited Fontainebleau, ate croque monieur and madame and creme brulee until midnight (we started at 8pm!) shopped our hearts out for the perfect French dresses and perfume, been mistaken for actual Parisians 🙌...only to disappoint them with our English and did one load of laundry at a laverie for about $18... It's been quite the experience
