I'm finally feeling well enough to do a proper skincare routine! I'm being a little extra and using 2 masks, 1 modeling mask #skynICELANDgiftedme and 1 sheet mask! I attempted to film a video to share on #igtv of my application + review of the modeling mask... but it came out horribly 😂 I wish IGTV had some sort of simple video editing options like cropping and merging clips. Overall, I'm still not sure how I feel about IGTV. I don't watch much youtube so idk how much time I'll spend watching IG videos. What say you? ____ ✨ @nazanschnappskincare oil cleanser (@thedetoxmarket*) ✨ @indie_lee rosehip cleanser (@dermstore*) ❄️ @skyniceland arctic hydration rubberizing mask* ❄️ This is my second time using this mask; I was gifted a pack of 3 that retails for $30. ❄️ My interpretation of the mask's description is that it's supposed to leave you with hydrated and radiant skin! ❄️ Ingredient wise it does contain some interesting soothing ingredients, but they're all listed after the preservative which usually means they're present in very small quantities. ❄️ The last time I used this mask I used the whole pouch and it was simply way too much product. This time I used half and had the same results but with a cleaner application! ❄️ Overall the mask is very cooling, somewhat hydrating, and not very brightening. Thanks to the cooling sensation, it did (temporarily) minimize the look of my pores. It also helped pull out some loose blackheads. ❄️ The selling point for me is that the mask isn’t drying. That’s not the case for many peel off masks. While I enjoy it, it’s not an everyday mask for me because of the cost/ use. Rather I would use this to prep my skin before a special event when I want my skin to be calm and smooth pre makeup application 👌🏽 ✨ @bioderma_usa sensibio micellar water ✨ @saturday_skin daily dew mist* ✨ @reise_skincare hydrating rice toner (@beautibi*) ✨ @whamisaskincare deep rich essence toner ✨ @mediheal_official IPI sheet mask ✨ @lilydemai harmony serum* ✨ @cosrx pha power cream (@cupiddrop.official*) ____ * = PR gift
#KevynAucoinBeautygiftedme their neo-elixir! When I first got this, I wasn't exactly sure what it was gonna be like. I was afraid it was going to be oily but it's not! It has an almost watery consistency. So far I've only tried it with the @esteelauder double wear foundation and I really like the combo of the two together. The neo-elixir provides a dewy base and makes the foundation look a bit more natural and lived in on the skin. ____ @KevynAucoin @Sephora #KevynAucoin #NeoElixir #OctolyFamily
Thanks, everyone for all the well wishes! I'm feeling a lot better today; still not at 100% but it's an improvement. ____ This weekend I did some sorting of my oil stash. It was less than 2 years ago that I got into oils! I used to think all of them would leave my skin greasy-- and in my defense many of them still do. Before I sorted things out I had 21 oils 😬 I get a lot of oils in PR gifts and it takes me months to finish a bottle-- even the ones I love! I ended up destashing 7 unopened bottles and 2 opened ones. The opened ones I'll probably just mix in with body lotion or body wash to use them up quickly. ____ Of the four oils pictured here, 2 are my favorites and 2 are ones I haven't tried yet! If you've been following me for some time, you probably know I'm obsessed with the @olivarrier_usa squalane oil (@peachandlily PR gift.) This is my second bottle of the stuff! It absorbs so well, works with all skin types (truly), and doesn't break me out. I reviewed 5 squalane oils last summer and this was my favorite. ____ My second favorite oil is the @herbivorebotanicals phoenix oil (PR gift.) This is also my second bottle of this oil! It's a heavier oil but in the winter my skin drinks it right up. It hydrates dry, irritated skin so well but at the same time doesn't make me greasy. It's a bit too heavy for my tastes to use in the summer, but I'll definitely start using it again come fall!
Hope you’re all having a better Tuesday than me! I woke up feeling very nauseous and spent most of the morning 🤢🤢🤢 I already had this post shot, edited, and captioned so I’m taking a break from the bathroom and hitting publish. ____ Here’s my morning routine from yesterday! I’ve been testing out numerous sunscreens lately and I have to say this is one of my least favorites. ____ ✨ @oskiaskincare renaissance cleansing gel ✨ @cosrx triple c lightning liquid (@sokoglam*) ✨ @enatureofficialusa birch juice hydra mist* ✨ @caudalie moisturizing sorbet* ✨ ✨ @olivarrier_usa squalane oil mixed with @drunkelephant d-bronzi* ✨ biore watery essence in LE botanical peony: Last week I wasn’t sure if this was more drying than the watery essence; today I’m confirming it definitely is the more drying of the two for me. The alcohol scent is so strong my eyes started tearing when I applied it on my forehead 😬 By the end of the day my skin is noticeably oilier when I wear this (because dehydration.) Even though I’ve only tried this a handful of times, I can say it’s not the sunscreen for me. If I do wear it on my face again, it will only be to see how well it wears under makeup. The plus is that it looks pretty 😂 ____ * = PR gift
This weekend I spent some time sorting through my sheet mask collection. While I've bought no more than 10 sheet masks over the last year, I still have an out of control collection. When I first discovered sheet masking I went a little bit insane and bought way too many. It seems to be catching up with me because I found so many masks that expired or near expired 🤦🏽♀️ In response to my poll this weekend re: expired masks, a lot of people helpfully recommended using them on my hands and feet (ty btw!) Which is exactly what I'll do! I'm also making an effort to sheet mask more so no more go expired. I used one of my favorites from @leaderscosmetics in yesterday's morning routine! ____ ☀️ @oskiaskincare renaissance cleansing gel ☀️ @cosrx triple c lightning liquid (@sokoglam*) ☀️ @saturday_skin daily dew mist* ☀️ @whamisaskincare deep rich essence toner ☀️ @enatureofficialusa birch juice hydro mist* ☀️ @leaderscosmetics AC clear sheet mask: One of my favorite masks from leaders! Soft material, generous essence, good fit. I find it helps calm down emerging zits... which I don't have any of atm, but I need to use this mask anyways as it expired last week 🙈 ☀️ @lilydemai harmony serum* ☀️ @caudalie moisturizing sorbet* ☀️ OMI menturm verdio uv moisture essence: I've only used this 4x BUT OMG I LOVE IT SO FAR! It's free of denatured alcohol, silicones, EOs, and fragrance. Thankfully it also doesn't leave a white cast on my skin! It has a lotiony texture but doesn't feel heavy on the skin. ☀️ @glossier birthday balm dot com ____ * = PR gift
🌩️🌩️🌩️ When it comes to @glossier, I feel like I'm halfway on the bandwagon (side note I was initially going to say I was drinking the glossier kool-aid but the backstory to that expression is DARK.) The last two makeup releases tempted be but not enough to purchase them. Lash slick didn't seem like it would hold a curl, and the lid stars looked too sheer. But when I saw the two new cloud paint shades I had to have them!! ___ I bought haze last year and it quickly became one of my favorite summer makeup products. It's so easy to blend and gives me that natural I just speed-walked to Starbucks flush. ___ The downside is that they don't last very long on my skin. After 5 or so hours my skin eats it up! But because they're so easy to re-apply, I don't mind too much. They look crazy pigmented when you first dispense them but they blend out like a dream. In fact, if you blend too much they can disappear! ___ I really wanted to try more shades after falling in love with haze, but I was afraid the other shades would be too light for my skin tone. Bless @glossier for releasing 2 darker shades. ___ 🍊 Dawn: Straight out of the tube this looks like hot cheetos dust. But as it blends out it's a lot less scary shade of orange! I don't own any orange blushes so I'm excited to play with this. I did try it out one day this weekend and it faded exceptionally fast-- in it's defense, I was outdoors in 90+ degree weather for an hour. 🍓 Storm: A deep rosy nude. It's everything I could have ever wished for! I can already tell this is going to be a fast favorite. I also think it would look stunning mixed with haze for us tan folks! ___ I've had a few requests to swatch/ show how they actually wear on my face... and I'll try. I feel uncomfortable showing my face too much on instagram so we'll see what happens 🙈
Hope you all are having a lovely Sunday! I got to shoot a ton of content this morning so I'm in a fab mood. Plus I will be eating cake later tonight for Father's day 🤪 As promised, here's the shelfie from earlier this week with deets on the things I'm testing atm! _____ ⭐ @ctillburymakeup hollywood flawless filter: Really liking this so far! It's quite dewy. I bought shade 6 which is darker than my skin tone, but as it's sheer it works. Overall if you're looking for something glowy but not oily and with minimal coverage, this is a good option (if you can find a shade match.) 🐘 @drunkelephant d-bronzi*: For a variety of reasons that I won't get into here, I've never tried any proper skin bronzing products until this summer. One of the reasons was lack of shade range! There's no such thing as a universal bronzer because there are sooo many skin colors out there. I will give Drunk Elephant some leeway as they're a skincare company and this is their first color product. I hope in the future they expand the range to cater to people of darker skin tones too! 🐘 Onto the actual product, this is a tan bronzey color with a subtle shimmer. I've been using it on my neck and chest on the days that I've been wearing the CT filter. Mixed in with a lightweight moisturizer, it absorbs well with minimal transferring. 💗 @skinrxlab madecera essence toner: I'm glad I opened this up last weekend because it expires next month! It's on the lighter side for a toner. Ingredients include niacinamide, turmeric root extract, ceramide, and madecassoside. I love the texture; it's beyond perfect for summer. It's thinner than a toner, but thicker than a FTE. Will def be checking to see if it brightens my skin! ☀️ @herbivorebotanicals after sun spray*: I've been keeping this in the fridge and spritzing it on my face after spending time outdoors. It's v refreshing. Sometimes I get headaches if I'm outside too long in the heat and this spray seems to help curb them since it literally cools me down! _____ * = PR gift

Hope everyone has been enjoying their Friday! The weather today is peak spring and it's put me in a really good mood. For once we're actually going to have a sunny Saturday and Sunday so I look forward to plenty of shooting! What are you up to this weekend? _____ Onto the actual photos! @thedetoxmarket gifted me one of their Sunny Days Bundle which is their GWP offer they launched today. It comes with 9 products-- 7 full size and 2 travel minis! It's free with all purchases of $190+ and has a total value of $250+! As always with GWP, I think it's worth it if a) you'll use the products and b) you're not buying things PURELY for the sake of the gwp. Everything in these photos is sold at the detox market but here are the specific items included in the GWP (all photographed in the fourth image): 🌿 @odacite black mint cleanser: full-size, $39 🌿 @coola citrus mimosa spf 30: full-size, $36; This sadly did not work out for me. Left a strong white cast and irritated my skin. People with light skin told me they loved it tho! 🌿 @herbivorebotanicals jasmine green tea balancing toner: travel size, $22; I have a bottle I bought so this is now a backup. Light and refreshing! It doesn't dry out my skin but it does help prevent me from getting oily/ sweaty. I've been reaching for it more as the weather heats up. 🌿 @graydonskincare matcha mint shampoo + hair smoothie: both full size, $25 each 🌿 @thebeautychef antioxidant boost: travel size, $14; The whole inner beauty, wellness movement intrigues me although I haven't tried much myself. This doesn't taste like much and it has a pleasant smell. It almost reminds me of flat fruit2o (which now I'm craving cause I haven't had it in years!) 🌿 @rmsbeauty eye polish in lunar: full size, $28; Gives a subtle & sheer glossy eye effect. I haven't tried layering it over other shadows yet but on its own, it's beautiful! 🌿 @w3llpeople bio-bronzer powder: full size, $22 🌿 @fitglowbeauty lip color serum in bliss: full size, $42
