Last night's semi-extra skincare routine, with a color scheme 💁🏽♀️ What do you define as an “extra” routine for yourself? For me it’s any routine where I use more than one product/ category 😜 ______ Asterisks* indicate PR gift ______ 🌴 @biossance cleansing oil 🌴 @atruekorea sweet tea foam cleanser* 🌴 @unpa_beauty bubi bubi lip scrub (@urbanoutfitters*) 🌴 @kravebeauty kale lalu yaha toner* @caudalie grape water mist* 🌴 @whamisaskincare deep rich toner 🌴 @mariobadescu rose water mist 🌴 @leegeehaam_global grow cica cream*: Is it me or is centella asiatica everywhere these days? I’ve been using this pretty sporadically. So far I can say I enjoy the texture 👌🏼 🌴 @olivarrier_usa squalane oil 🌴 @clinique moisture surge overnight mask 🌴 @saturday_skin eye cream 🌴 @laneige_us lip mask (@altheakorea*)
I was initially going to share my empties for my blog post of the week, but I had to delay it because I have so many products that are *almost* empties. It would feel like cheating if I included them. But at the same time, I would be annoyed if I had to hold onto them for another two months. Alas, delaying the post was my only logical option. Please pray that I finish these up this week. I can’t be the only one cursed the with the case of the never-ending bottles 🙃
Don’t forget your vitamins 🍊 _____ Some of the vitamin c serums in my stash! Later in the year I plan on writing a round up blog post comparing a few serums as well as a wtf post on the various benefits of vitamins c. A sort of relevant question, do you prefer one item review posts? Or posts reviewing and comparing a group of products?
A random old photo that vibes with my current feed ✨ ______ I have ideal lighting for taking some photos....yet nothing is coming to me. Do you ever feel like everything you shoot is the same and incredibly dull? That's pretty much how I'm feeling at the moment 🙃
Happy Saturday! What are your plans for the day? I want to start watching season 4 of Mozart in the Jungle... despite the fact that season 3 was garbage. Guess it wasn't garbage enough to make me stop watching 🙃 ____ ☀️ @caudalie cleansing oil* ☀️ @drdennisgross c+ collagen serum*: Smells like vinegar but it gets the job done! I've been using it regularly for 2.5+ months now and can definitely see results 👌 ☀️ @saturdayskin daily dew mist* ☀️ @whamisaskincare deep rich toner ☀️ @joshrosebrook hydrating accelerator (@thedetoxmarket*) ☀️ @olivarrier_usa squalane oil ☀️ @itsskinusa tiger cica balm* ☀️ @lapcos_usa sunblock (@rileyrose*) ☀️ @glossier coconut balm dot com: So this was the first balm dot com I bought and boy was it a disappointment. While it smells really good, it started separating within a few months. Apparently, I'm not the only one with that issue. On the bright (ish?) side, the inconsistency within the line means I'm no longer hesitant to try the rose one since I've heard it's better! ☀️ @laneige_us lip mask: My lips are so dry I need this bb in the daytime too 😅 ____ Asterisks indicate PR gift 🎁
Tonight's nightly routine post is actually a throwback to last month! It features the 3 @atruekorea products (PR) that @cupidrop.official sent over for me to test. All three products are reasonably priced for my budget ($15-$29) and feature black tea as their star ingredients! Here are my thoughts so far: ___ ✨ Sweet Song Black Tea Miracle Cleansing Foam ✨ I'm generally a gel cleanser kinda gal but I surprisingly enjoyed this cleanser. It lathers up nicely but doesn't get too foamy. I don't use it on my eyes but if I accidentally get some in the general area, my eyes are ok. ✨ It doesn't rinse off 100% clean. I'm not even sure how I can describe the feeling-- it almost leaves a thin lotion-y layer behind? The pro is that my skin isn't dried out but the con is I always feel like I have to use a toner on a cotton pad afterward. ✨ pH strips are still MIA so I'll share the pH this weekend OR whenever my new strips come in. 🍵 Spring Green Tea Watery Calming Cream 🍵 I used this one the least because it wasn't moisturizing enough for my skin this time of year. I'm putting it back in the box and will revisit it come spring. 🍵 It smells AMAZING. Like a lightly sweetened, fruity tea. 🍵 I was afraid it would pill because it does have a smooth, siliconey texture. But because it's lightweight and sinks in so quickly, that hasn't been an issue. 🍋 Honey Lemon Black Tea Mist 🍋 Surprise, surprise-- I like the mist the most. The spritzer is not very fine, but I don't mind because I like the product. It feels lightweight and moisturizing. BUT if you spray too many layers, it will make your skin sticky. 🍋 I enjoy spraying it in the morning because it has a scent that wakes you up and makes you feel refreshed! It smells like bougie lemon-scented cleaning products.
I’m in a funk with Instagram at the moment. Because of this rut, I want to try something new. ______ I love starting series on my blog so it was about time I started one on IG. So here’s the first post in my #skincarefirstglance series! The goal of this series is to chat about the basics of recently acquired products— ingredients, packaging, texture, scent, etc. I’m lucky to get a decent amount of PR but unlucky to only have one face to test it on (tis a tragedy I’m not a Hydra.) So with this series I can have a chat without waiting for months! ______ 🌿 Today’s post is all about the @tataharperskincare clarifying cleanser (PR gift) which launched yesterday! It’s targeted towards oily and acne prone skin so it’s something I would reach for more in the spring/ summer. 🌿 When I applied it to the back of my hand, the texture was runny but not so much that it ran down my wrist. It lathered up easily and rinsed away clean. It a cooling effect on my skin. 🌿 Based on the ingredients list it has a base of barley leaf juice! I haven’t found any info on its topical use. What I have learned is that it’s a superfood rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants 💚 🌿 Some of the other ingredients to note are honey, willow bark extract, prickly pear flower extract, and lactobacillus ferment. 🌿 It also contains essential oils so if those aren’t your jam, this will be a pass for you. 🌿 Because of the barley juice base, I thought it would smell grassy... but it doesn’t 🤔 There’s almost a minty quality to it? I’m struggling to really pinpoint the scent. 🌿 I’m hoping this will be a gentler alternative to clay cleansers in the warmer months ☀️ 🌿 I would have pH tested it but my strips are MIA at the moment 🙈 I’ll have a look this weekend and share the results on my story 👍🏽
New blog post reviewing the fancy makeup brushes I acquired this winter. They help perfect the greasy potato look I’m rocking here 🥔 ____ This post was supposed to go up yesterday but I got distracted by the Pink Panther & 50 shades of shit 💩
On Valentine’s Day, beauty bloggers must gather up all their pink beauty shit and photograph them in the name of Saint Valentine. In return they will receive superb engagement and PR packages for the next year ✌🏽💖 _______ For me Valentine’s Day is just a pregame for post Valentine’s Day chocolate sales 🙃 I’m gonna eat healthy today so tomorrow I can gorge on the good stuff. Although I’m not sure how useful my healthy eating today will be as post-chocolate-binge stomachaches are pretty much inevitable 🤨
