Hope everyone is having the sweetest long weekend! I am ending mine with some matcha double fromage cheesecake from @cheesegarden_ca, and macarons. Cheese Garden currently has a pop-up @shopstc until August 31 (lower level, next to Sephora), where you can get some of their popular baked goods. --------- 📍300 Borough Dr, Scarborough, ON #cheesegarden
The best beer ever .... Butterbeer! It was so good that I wanted a second one in the commernerate cup before I left, but there was a huge line :( ----- Third picture - I used to have a massive Coke addiction (1-2 can per day), which has now been (temporarily) replaced by bbt 😅
What a spread @kinkaizakayato! Kinkalicious is their take on the long-running Summerlicious, where they offer a set course meal for an affordable price. It's a great way to sample the menu without breaking the bank. It's available now until July 21, 2019, for groups of 2 or more at all GTA locations. ----- For a limited time, you can get a 8-course prix fixe menu for $29 per person. The courses are as followed: sashimi platter, gyu shabu salad, gomaae, kinoko bibimbap, kakimayo, fry platter, angus beef yukke, and matcha ice-cream #kinkaizakaya || 📍559 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON ----- 💻 For more details, my blog post on Kinkalicious is linked in the bio.
Get this deal before it dissapears into thin air (watch video)! @Gazo.Canada is a Montreal-based dessert shop that just opened up in downtown Toronto. Their specialities are in-house crafted liquid nitrogen ice cream & fresh fruit teas. To celebrate, they are giving out FREE Nitrogen ice-cream for the first 100 customers each day from July 12th-14th with any drink or soufflé pancake purchase. ---- 🆕 From July 15-21, the first 50 customers can get the Strawberry Cheese Mousse Tea for $1.99 (original price of $7.49) 🍓 ---- I wasn't a fan of the taro babo drink because I don't like real taro (from anywhere). However, I really enjoyed the Cheese Mousse Babo Soufflé Pancakes, and will be back for it. Cause it has everything I love - soufflé pancakes, salted cheese and tapioca. They also have brown sugar babo 👍 ---- 📍674 Yonge St, Toronto, ON #gazotoronto
[NEW THEME] I love desserts! One my favourite dessert is Japanese crepes; rolled-up French crepes that are filled with ice-cream, whipped cream, and fruits. I think cause this shop was inside Daimaru (high-end department store), so the prices of the crepes reflect it. It was really good, but I would just stick to the ones in Harajuku for 1/3 the price! ----- Fruit Lover (¥1,280 | $15) Greedy Strawberry (¥1,180 | $14) ----- If you’re looking for Japanese Crepes in #Toronto, you can check out Crazy Crepes, Millie Creperie and T-Swirl #shotoniphone.
@Awas_Tea_Noodle specializes in high-quality tea and home-style Taiwanese food. They're your home away from home, serving high-quality tea, savoury soups and street-eats. Menu includes noodle soup, spicy fried chicken cutlet rice bowl, Taiwanese scallion pancake beef roll, BBQ ribs, and more #awasteanoodle. ----- I did want to check Taiwan out eventually, but it was never on my top list of places to visit. In 2018, they had a deal where people had to fly into Kaosiung before going to Japan. So I booked it for us with no expectations. After a week in Kaosiung, I loved it so much that I couldn't wait to go back. So we spent another 2 weeks in Taiwan (Taipei, Tainan, and Taichung) this past May 2019, and I can't wait to go back again. Lesson learned - no more preconceived notions on places that I have never been to! Good thing Awas is available whenever I’m craving Taiwanese food and drinks. ----- ℹ️ Until July 7th, get the BBQ Black Pepper Short Ribs for only $1 (normally $8.99). To redeem, all you have to do is follow @awas_tea_noodle and show your server before ordering! The ribs was one of my favorite item on the menu, as they're flavourful and tender. ----- 📍 They also got daily specials combo from Monday to Friday. Includes 1 cold dish, 1 cold-brewed and a bowl of noodles for only $16.99.
Unlike in movies, not all heroes wear a cape, and have special abilities (like speed). I wish (watch video) 🏃🏻♀️🌬To me, heroes can be anybody who makes a positive difference in the world. ------- Join @yunshangricenoodle and @sickkidstoronto for a good cause this weekend. On Sunday, July 7th 2019, Chinese rice noodle brand Yunshang will launch a “Pay-What-You-Can” campaign in support of SickKids to build a new hospital! All locations in the GTA will be offering an exclusive “Support-SickKids Menu” the day of the campaign. Guests are encouraged to come to any Yunshang shop within the GTA, order whatever they like on the menu, and pay only what they can. 100% of the proceeds collected that day will go to SickKids to build a new hospital. ------- Stores open at 12pm, dine-in only #yunshangricenoodle. ------- SickKids is one of the charities that I personally support, as they tended to me from 9-13 years old. If it wasn’t for my doctor back then, I wouldn’t be as healthy as I am today. Living life to the fullest :)
The one thing I love as much as steaks is definitely seafood! Started my long weekend @thecaptainsboil with the chicken sizzling plate consisting of 2 crawfish, 2 shrimp, 2 clams, and 2 mussels. It’s one of my go-to dishes when I’m at Captain’s Boil for lunch, as you can get a bit of everything. I also enjoyed the lobster roll, but I did find it way too heavy on the sauce. Anyway, eating here is always messy, but fun.
The concept of oshi sushi (pressed sushi) originated in Osaka, but it's still wildly unpopular throughout Japan. Even though it's not popular over there, it is in Canada thanks to a Japanese businessman/chef who brought it to Vancouver about 10 years ago. I am glad that he did - cause it's so good! ------- You can now find a plethora of torched and pressed sushi options in the GTA from affordable to high-end. Torch Pressed Sushi (@torchpressedsushi) has positioned themselves right in the middle with their offering of casual fare in a cozy take-out setting, along with affordable pricing. The sides are a hit and miss, but I definitely did enjoy their pressed sushi ||📍 507 Church St, Toronto, ON ------- If you don't know what to get, I would suggest getting the Mix 8 ($17.95) as you get one piece of each sushi on their menu.
Aloha! Life is a party down @missthingshawaiian. Here you can enjoy innovative Polynesian dishes & tiki cocktails in Toronto. I also love the interior, it’s very retro || 📍1279 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M6K 1L6
It’s never too hot for hot pot! @roadside_picnic_inc (or Malubianbian 马路边边) is a popular Sichuan hot pot chain from China, and they just opened their first location in Toronto. Unlike other places, hot pot ingredients come on skewers ($0.50 a skewer) here. You can choose from an array of skewers at the front, along with broth, pre-cooked dishes and desserts. Walking in, I found the interior to be inviting, colourful, and reminiscent of the dining experience from the 1960’s. Lastly, I love spicy soup base, so the Spicy Traditional soup was the perfect amount of 🔥 for me #eventpick || Address: 438 Dundas Street West ------------------------ ⚠️ Check my last post to win any 2 crepes from Crazy Crepes on Church St. 3 winners :) #giveawaytoronto ------------------------ 📷: Thanks @notsimplyacouchpotato for the shot

One of the prettiest views of Mt. Fuji! I rarely like to deviate from my planned itineraries cause I’m a hardcore planner, as the Chureito Pagoda was never on my itinerary. However, Harajuku was a complete sardine can, so YOLO.
[HOME-COOKED] Been eating Japanese food non-stop for the past 16 days. That I’m actually craving for some Chinese food like spicy skewers and dumplings like the ones from @thedailydumplingwontonco that I made before I left. I’m currently in Taiwan, and funny enough, there are a lot of Japanese food here and I can’t find a single Northern Chinese restaurant. First meal back in Toronto will be at one of my faves ... Yang’s haha. ............ 📍792 College St, Toronto, ON ............ The Daily Dumpling Shop is a shop on College St offering both cooked meals, and frozen dumplings. I got the Pork, Shrimp and Chive ($12), and they were 👏
