| Sundays are for family meals | . Love this post from dietitian friend Jay Baum @pommetta. Getting your kids involved in the planning, prepping, shopping, and chopping of your meals helps them in so many ways. Let your kids help pick your Dashing Dishes order. Get them to help cook, prepare sides, or even just set the table. ❤️💛💚💜 . Also, look at those colours!! Can't wait for summer! . #Repost @pommetta with @get_repost ・・・ Question from a follower: What if we get most of our food delivered? We order our pantry staples online and have them delivered. In the Winter we get organic fruit and vegetables through a grocery service and in the Summer we get a CSA box. How can I teach my kids to shop for food? Should I start taking them to the grocery store? — This is a great question! I would say, Nope. You don’t need to go to the grocery store. You can involve your kids in the process of ordering your food, unpacking it, and cooking with it. — You can meal plan as a family and then show your kids how you order the groceries. When you receive the food, talk to them about it, let them touch it, play with it, and help put it away. In the Summer a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) box is a great way to teach your kids about local and seasonal foods. You will often receive some fruit or vegetables that you might not buy if shopping yourself. Many CSA boxes also allow you to order eggs, meat, and dairy, which provides an opportunity to discuss humane and sustainable farming practices. — Remember my friends, there is truly not one single way to eat and live a healthy life. You need to make choices that work for you and your family and if having groceries delivered makes life easier (or manageable) then by all means go for it! And if you ever run out of milk or need an extra loaf of bread, take your kid with you to pick it up, at least that way she/he might get the chance to see the inside of a grocery store 😉 —
