Singapore’s favorite breakfast- Kaya Toast. @violetoonsingapore’s version may cost $8 a slice but I wouldn’t mind paying for that luscious coconut custard that has a bright pandan flavor and a slab of smooth butter on the fluffy bread. @violetoonsingapore at Ion Orchard is now serving breakfast daily from 10-11.30am.
Teriyaki chicken don with dashi-tamago and some vegetables. Simple comfort food. Not the prettiest egg roll since I used a round pan. I think everything tastes better when it’s home-cooked hahaha.
Mad afternoon of feasting with my favorite foodies. RED WHITE PINK food party was a success! Thanks @bing_leow for hosting and all the lovely contributions from @larvitar @therantingpanda @sgfoodonfoot @superadrianme @honeybeesweets.sg & @jazpster. The homemade dishes- Hakka mee tai mak and pineapple piglets were the best IMO! Also introduced to the fried Peng kueh and soon kueh from Bendemeer Market. Also couldn’t stop snacking on @roastparadise char Siew! And of course my usual favorite Bedok Interchange chwee kueh.
Thinking of my morning cuppa and was reminded of this delicious bubble tea cake (according to me) @antoinette_sg. The base is a cloud-like purple sweet potato chiffon, and it’s covered with a salty cheese cream, further topped with unnecessary frills like gummies, candies and tapioca pearls (unless you’re a pearl milk tea fan). I wasn’t very impressed with the description but strip everything away it’s a really good cake. FYI it’s called 财源滚滚 ($28) because all the CNY decoration will flow down the cake when you unwrap the casing that holds it.
New Post- A list of noteworthy dishes from too many Chinese New Year meals in 2019. Grab your table or place that order if you like what you see! Here a super cute piglet from @fullertonhotel Jade restaurant. More on www.ms-skinnyfat.com link in bio.
Been waking up hungry for the past week! Must be about the workouts (and I suppose effectiveness too)? Wanna bite into the fresh flatbreads and stuffed sandwiches @themastsg with their daily housemade Italian cheeses. This Pinse, a traditional Roman flatbread, is topped smoked salmon, zucchini ribbons and stracciatella. Salty, smoky, fresh and crunchy, expect a party in your mouth.
