💡Does anyone look at case studies? I get this question A LOT from people new to UX and my answer is always the same: Yes! Let’s be honest, creating case studies can be a daunting task. However, they can be one of the best ways to document your processes and allow readers to better understand your finished product. Another reason case studies are important is because they give new team members a well documented way of understanding past projects. _____ 👩🏾💻When looking for new UX/Product Designers for my team, I usually start with portfolios and am looking for many things. Case studies are typically where I start because I’m looking to see if candidates have a strong handle on the UX process. ____ 📄Writing a case study? I’ve included a checklist of things to think about when writing your next one: 1. What’s the purpose of this project? Start with a high level brief. 2. Problem statement 3. Tell a story 4. Design process 5. Include quotes if possible 6. Provide real numbers if possible 7. Annotate wireframes 8. Annotate high fidelity prototypes 9. Iterations 10. Group project? Focus on your responsibilities 11. Retrospective _____ 💎Swipe to see examples of past case studies. I’ve included a link in my bio to my Medium account where you can find them all. You can also find some amamzing case studies from participants of the “12 Days of UXmas” design challenge I just held. What are you thoughts on case studies? Love em? Hate em? Let’s discuss!

New year, means new blog post! 👩🏾💻 Head over to my blog (link in bio) and find out all of the reasons why the Apple Watch Series 4 just was not a fit for me. Also, can we talk about how EXPENSIVE Apple has become? I get into all of that in this post. I’ve included some of the highlights below but you’ll have to head over to my blog to find out why these features didn’t work for me: 1. Notifications galore 2. Lack of complications 3. Activity tracker was just okay 4. GPS feature was too much 5. Talk to text rarely worked 6. Apple Music/podcasts are easier to access on my phone Do you have an Apple Watch or another smart watch? I want to know your thoughts on them so let me know in the comments. ______ 📸: @chaitaastic
Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉 Even after a long holiday break, I still feel like I could use another week off but here we are. 🙃 ___ Now you all know I love sharing new tech related products I come across and will only share if it is something I have personally incorporated in my day-to-day. With that, @loopycases is the latest company I want to put you on. These super convenient phone cases with a loop on the back help to help support your phone in your hand while using it or carrying it around. I’ve never been a fan of the Pop Sockets that are supposed to serve a similar purpose, mainly for aesthetic reasons and because I never found them comfortable. For me, Loopy Cases are a great alternative. I never thought it would be much more convenient to just put one of my fingers through a loop to hold my phone when I’m carrying it by itself, with other items in my hand, or when I just don’t want to hold my phone. I know, millennial problems. ___ Thanks, @loopycases for sending this gorgeous marble iPhone case. Check out their array of designs and I promise you’ll find one and will not be disappointed. What’s your favorite phone accessory you can’t live without? ____ 📸: @chaitaastic
