2018 EVFEST Wed 31st Oct 9am -3pm The Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival 'EVFest' is all about thinking of sustainable transport in fun and innovative ways that support the development of electric vehicle industries in the region. The EV Prize event is held every year, and this year will see 28 teams of high school students race the electric bikes they have built at Newcastle Kart Racing Club at Cameron Park, for the coveted EV Prize. The Mini EV Prize this year will see 44 teams competing from primary school and high school students in the Hunter region and beyond, who have built mini solar-powered cars and will race them on a 20m straight or oval track at the Newcastle Kart Racing Club.
The Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival are looking for volunteers on Wednesday 31st October to assist with the EV Prize and Mini EV Competition at Cameron Park Kart Raceway. Roles include: Scrutineers for the electric bikes and solar cars participating in the competitions, an Electrician for tag and testing electrical cords, Judges to assess the teams vehicle design, innovation and team approach and general helpers for the registration desk and award ceremony.
